Thank you present for someone outside the wedding party?

sapphire_22, 11 August, 2011 at 17:05 Posted on Planning 0 8

My cousin has lent me her veil to me and is doing my hair on the wedding day. I want to get her something to say thank you but I don't know what. I was originally thinking chocolate but we are giving chocolates out as favours anyway (and she is getting extra as she doesn't drink so isn't getting one of the alcohol miniatures we are giving everyone else);I think it would be too much chocolate. Could get her jewellery but I don't know her tastes well enough. The other option is a specially made thank you card, but might be a bit underwhelming? What do you think?

I'm planning on getting my friend from work a present as she has really helped me out with the wedding planning and has to sit and listen to me go on and on about it all!! I'm going to get a bag or a box and fill it with nice pamper miniatures and give her a nice card as well Smiley smile xx

How about a nice set of smellies, like some sanctuary or champney ones?

Didn't think of smellies. I will pop into Boots on Sat and have a look at their Sanctury stuff.

One of my friends is hopefully going to sing a solo during the signing of the register - I'm going to get her either a nice picture or an ornament similar to the ones I got for her engagement. That way it's more permanent than smellies...

I sang at a friend's wedding last Saturday and she got me a little bracelet. I've sang at a wedding before and not got anything, so I appreciated the thought more than anything. At my sister's wedding, our cousin sang and her husband played the harp. My sister got a special Welsh poem (that follows a particular style) written for them by a local poet (who goes to chapel with my mum) and framed.

I was involved in a wedding earlier this year (as celebrant/vicar) and was given a funky clock because the bride knew I'd always wanted to have a wall of clocks in my house. I've got loads of jewellery so wouldn't have worn something else much but everytime I check the time i remember the day.

How about a picture or vase? Or if she's fond of cooking something special for the kitchen? If she likes entertaining maybe a cake stand?

I've got our readers some personalised keyrings from Lisa @ Louloubelle

For my friend (who is the Best Man's girlfriend) who has really helped me out and will doing my make up me and OH will be giving them a card to say thank you and when we're back from honeymoon we're taking them out to dinner (which will be written in the card) no arguments. I thought it would be better than potentially buying them something that they wouldn't use.
