Thank you presents! Parents, what are you buying?

LiverpoolB2B, 25 February, 2016 at 11:04 Posted on Planning 0 9

Hi Lovelies,

So I'm trying to get organised now with presents but I am totally stuck on what to buy both sets of parents? What are you all getting (if any)?

I don't want to do flowers for the mums because we are spending a small fortune on flowers as it is, and there will be so many left over that they'll be taking home huge centrepieces anyway! Our florist comes back in the morning and organised them into carry box/bouquets to be handed out.

I was thinking a really nice boxed bottle of champagne, but its not very thoughtful is it?

Not sure on the pageboy yet either?!

Bridesmaids were easy, I've getting PJ's & a dressing gown to give them the night before and on the day a Bridemaids Kit which will have a personalised champagne flute and mini bottle of champagne, gold hair ties for the evening, a personalised gold bracelet to wear with mine and their initials, party feet, gold ballet shoes for the evening, and nail polish.

Ushers, I am thinking a nice pocket watch which I'll engrave with our wedding date.

Any advice so welcome! Smiley smile xxx

You've been very generous with your BM's, mine are getting a necklace and a pair of slippers.

My dad and other men, are getting a watch with the date engraved, and the mothers for me was a challenge, but we've bought them a bracelet, and a clip on charm that they can attach to the clasp of the bracelet, with "Mother of x" on it, and we will be giving them to them on the night before as we're having dinner with both parents the night before. So they wear it for the day, but then they can wear it as a normal bracelet at other occasions should they want to.

For the pageboy depends on the age, if under 5, personalised toy/book (where you replace bits of the story with their name) anything older, just something they're into, or a football shirt with pageboy *name* and their age on the back?

Ah its all been sourced and hours spent on the internet sorting Bridesmaids out, there are some real bargains! A lot is from Primark, Ebay and Etsy!

A watch is a lovely idea for both dads, might have a look into getting them a matching pocket watch too for their suits. Don't think I'd risk Jewellery for the mums, both are very different but I could have a think on that, I love the idea of a little charm!

We are getting both sets of Mum (and my Grandmother) a bouquet of flowers. Still not sure on what to get my Dad...

Have a look on etsy and notonthehighstreet for inspiration! xxx

How about a voucher for a spa treatment or beauty treatment? I think that's what I'm going to get our mums. Especially as they will, like you, have the flowers to take away the next day too! X

    Those bracelets are gorgeous.

We we are thinking for mums perhaps a silver photo frame each. They can then put a wedding picture in it when we get our pictures back.

We're doing both sets of parents a photobook once we get the photos from the wedding.
