Thanks...biscuit idea

maxinegallie, 9 November, 2011 at 19:35 Posted on Planning 0 4

Hi hitchers

Thank you soooooooooooo much for keeping me calm last night during my very panicky experience.

I am back on to my hoppeful, positive attitude and determined to find a way. My OH keeps complaining I'm focusing on the little things, but every penny saved helps and I wanted to run my idea past someone and know they'll tell me the truth.

I have been pondering favours for ages, I know they are not essential, but as a relatives wedding is 5 weeks after ours, I don't want people to feel ours was missing something.

So given my love of biscuits, how would you feel if you attended a wedding and found a biscuity favour? I was thinking heart-shaped cookies or other tasty biscuit. I'd have 3 different sizes and stack them (largest at bottom), and then could use icing pen to write guests name on top smallest one, thereby also serving as their place name too.

Does this sound really cheap and tacky? I have no idea how I'd wrap them though Smiley atonished

Not at all. Infact this is what we are doing. Me and my CB made about 30 of these a month or so ago to test out. We made shortbread biscuits in the shape of a heart, and got already rolled iceing and just thinned it out, and cut smaller shape hearts and used runny icing to apply these. We tried using the same idea by trying to place these as name's/favours, but had a bit of a struggle trying to fit the longer names on evern with the smallest pipping bit. So we have just wrote "Love" across ours.

Also, we are getting cello bags from ebay and wrapping them in that and using red organza ribbon to tie them together to add the colour of our wedding.

    They tasted yummy too xx

I love this idea! Not cheap or tacky at all, i'd much prefer biscuits than the usual favours people tend to do, i mean who doesnt like biscuits?! I was actually thinking of wrapping up homemade tablet and tying a tartan ribbon round, but for some reason it never crossed my mind to do biscuits....i may steal your idea, lol x
