The bit inbetween the ceremony and the sit down.....Music woes!

bexycola, 24 June, 2012 at 22:21 Posted on Planning 0

Hi there,

We're getting married in a church about 20 minutes from our reception venue. After the church we'll be having pictures taken and our guests can go back to the hotel and have a drink (or ten) and some nibbles but now I'm thinking music. I would really like a local "old boys" band...thinking trumpets or barbershop esq...I'm not really into the strings and harps so what do you think? What did you have? Any suggestions?!

Thank you!

How long would you need music for? If you haven't planned the music for the evening entertainment yet, you could use a duo, such as guitar+vocals or violin+piano who are part of a larger band and could play later on. That way you can just book one act and have them sort out all the music. Having said that a barbershop group could be a great idea, but you may find they won't have a really extensive repertoire and be able to play for a long time.

Good luck with your wedding preparations!
