It doesn't bother me at all.

I actually have a new favourite thanks to one of the otters... starting it with TW instead of C! Ah-mazing.

At last! Someone else who thinks like me. It's just one of many words. I've never understood the fuss about it. Naturally I'm so lovely I would never use profanities ... [cough] ... but if I did it would be part of the vocabulary along with the rest.

I only ever say it, well, in the bedroom (sorry, TMI). But I don't swear much generally.

It may be just four letters but it's indicative of how extreme bad language has crept into our lives. Most of us think nothing now of using the F word in certain company and in text/net speak FFS is acceptable. The C word is a beyond a line tho and we have to have a line. I do think the electronic communication era has changed our language for ever and so there is an element of generation in it.

i would never ever use the F word when speaking with parents or that generation, but use it with friends and other family. I would never ever ever use the C word and find it offensive. The Tw word however in the right time and place is just perfect lol x just my thoughts x

I used to hate it but it seems I've learned to accept it. And I now use it. Oops. I'm still very careful who I say it around though as I know lots of people that still hate it.

I rarely swear but if I do, it will be appropriate to the situation and the company. I would never swear in front of my parents, but I have friends with whom I swear a lot. But, that word is one I don't say unless in very extreme cases - it describes my ex for example and so I wouldn't use it about anyone I didn't consider as bad as him.

I don't think there are many words that are taboo in our society but there are some that should only be used for effect and that word is one of them. To be fair, I don't use the F word very much either!

I once went out with a girl (who is now a boy! - a story for another time!) who used the C word in the bedroom, I have to admit, in that context, massive turn off. In fact, I suppose I was offended.

Well, there we go. In that context, I kinda like it. I feel I'm revealing too much about myself here Smiley smile

I will use it but only in circumstances of extreme disgust. I think used in that way it is an effective way of communicating just how angered/upset/disgusted by someone's actions I am.

Mostly this is in an online context, but out loud I've only said it a handful of times and only in front of H (not at him). He's the same as me about it's usage I would say.

I hate the C word. I only ever say it if it gets me laughs if that makes sense (to my friends in a story about something when extremely drunk). I never say it in a serious way. I think that its my line on swear words. I say F a lot, or B0ll***s, with the occasional Ba$tard and TW..

I hate it.....but (TMI alert) I seem to use it during alcohol fuelled bedroom shenanigans - but never when sober.

I'm generally not a swearer though.

Me and oh are always trying to outdo each other in how rude we can be, we throw swear words at each other (in a jokey way) and say all sorts of things we probably shouldn't say. We're childish and it makes us laugh. I would never use it in front of anyone else though, not even close friends.

I swear a lot but never use the c word. It makes me cringe in the same way someone talking 'street' would if that makes any sense.

I just think historically it was 'the worst thing' someone could call you and that's stuck.

It would be a massive turn off for me if someone used it in the bedroom

As some of you may have noticed, I am a swearer. Regularly and fluidly. I don't really use the C word, but it doesn't bother me, none of them do. What I look for though is context. I would be livid if someone called me that in anger, but if they called me a daft c then I wouldn't bat an eyelid.

SW, I wanna hear that story!

I am a nice girl! The first time it happened I was so shocked with myself, H found it hilarious how mortified I was with myself the morning after! It genuinely only pops out when I'm drunk, and that's a rare occurrence these days.

Doesn't bother me in the slightest and i use it far too regularly (as some of you will now find out! lol). i mostly use it in frustration as part of the expression 'fluff, bunting bum bags!' lol

as far as the bedroom goes, i'd rather c than the p word. that is a bit too porn-y for me lol

It used to shock me a bit but l now work with people who say it constantly! My boss was telling me how much he enjoyed saying it and how flexible it is! E.g. You are a c, l want to *** your c, you have a nice c. He's rather inappropriate as you can see! I use the f word too much, it winds my husband up!

When l was at the Comedy Store in Manchester last year then a comedian made a good point that it sounds less bad said in some accents e.g. Cockney

I have an absolute filthy mouth- pretty sure I'm half sailor- but I try very hard not to use it. It's crossing some sort of line, I feel!

I find it a really emotive word. Probably because lots of people find it offensive. I like the hard c sound and the until. Short, sharp & to the point.

I do only break it out when I'm driving mind.

For some reason I was expecting this thread to be about that BBC drama with Sheridan Smith in it!

Not keen on the c word. I just associate it with being very derogatory to women. Rightly or wrongly.

Because all the kids at the school I work at use it casually I have started doing it too. It's one of my favourite words.

It's used so casually in some of our social circles use it as part of a friendly greeting.

My mom was horrified when I went to visit and dropped it in conversation. I was always a swearer, but she thought it was a step too far.

This board is very tame when it comes to swearing. Another board I am on is full of guttermouths.
