The coolest thing?

groomwithaview, 31 August, 2009 at 10:52 Posted on Planning 0 7

RIght - the boards have been quiet for a bit and with all the bruhaha in the week, I refuse to let HItched die, so its my mission this week to post as much as possible!

Starting with a question - whats the coolest thing youve ever seen at a wedding?

For me it was when the bride and groom organised a road train (like the ones at seaside resorts that look like mini trains?) to transport guests to the venue complete with prosecco (while the bride and groom went in the back of a pickup truck!)

Oh my they must have had quite a budget. I have to say nothing sticks to mind - Ive only been to bog-standard ones with no bells and whistles.

I've not been much here this week due to house move (this will carry on for another 2 weeks and then whenever we get web sorted - 1st priority!!!)

but am still lurking here and there....

The Groom organised a quiz, to get everyone talking at wedding breakfast. A little cheesy, but cool as we won and got a bottle of champagne!

Also, seen bride and groom leaving venue in helicopter (surprise from parents) to start their honeymoon. Not my style, but not something you see everyday.

Oooh just remembered the coolest Proposal though!

someone I know is a farmer (well, works on a farm) so he treated his girlfriend to a light aircraft flight (you know those really small things that fit a pilot and two people - I don't know what they are called), he arranged for them to fly over his fields and when she looked down he had ploughed "will you marry me?" into the wheat.

    no that's cool!

At my CBM's wedding in Rome a year ago this Saturday we went on a tour of Rome stopping off for photos at various locations. At the lat stop the groom asked a tourist if he could borrow his scooter for a photo...

It was without a doubt the best wedding I've ever been too. So unique, relaxed, fun and special.

The grounds of the hotel edged the river through Cambridge and the bride was punted up it to all the guests standing on the bank.....fabulous.....especially as they didn't know about it and were watching the door for her arrival.........beautiful sunny day too............can't imagine it would have had the wow factor though if it had been raining.

The coolist thing I think I've seen was the brides father singing for the 1st song.

Motor bikes and wedding dresses, NO! Does anybody remember that poor bride who was arrving on motorbike in 2007? I think she had to travel 100 yards in total, during which her dress got caught up in the bike somehow and as a result she lost her leg. Don't even think about it.

Seen a few cool things, Helicopters, big bouncy castles, huge firework displays and once a giraffe! but for me the things I think are absolutely the coolest are when the bride and groom get all emotional, 3 stick in my mind.

The first there was a harpist playing, the bride started, the groom started the guests started and then I was in total bits trying to focus through my tears and try to catch it all. The second was between a disabled couple, they were on quite a budget but she was so happy with the way everything looked and had been done for them that I was really touched. The last was a couple fo weeks ago, the bride just cried for a full 2 minutes during the signing, gorgeous!
