The Lawn (Rochford)

Hi, I went to an evening reception there in November so cannot comment on the food but the grounds and the place are really lovely and the bride and groom were really pleased with how the day went, they didn't have any problems. Hope that helps a little

Do you think the venue could comfortably hold 140 evening guests?

What month are you planning to get married in?

You do get a few rooms so everyone can be a bit spaced out and if you asked them to remove some of the tables you would def fit 140 confortably. Also the grounds are huge x

I know lots of people that got married there and loved it, only down sides for me whih is why we didn't use it is guests can end up spread accross the different rooms and there are stairs for the bride to be to enter the room, love the idea, scared me to death in reality of falling down!

ShellG - We are planning to get married in August 2013. We went to view the venue at the weekend and love it. Think we are going to book. :-)

Hi There, we are holding our wedding reception there this year on July 20th. We can't wait. All ofthe dealings we have had with the venue owners have been brilliant as well. We will meet withthe caterers about 2 months before the big day to go through menues etc.

I have heard good things about the weddings held there and can't wait to have ours

Good! The planning is going well I think! Trying to decide on our photographer! Have you chosen one yet? How's your planning going?

I think we are going to go with Gary Derbridge. He has photographed quite a few weddings at The Lawn. What ones have you been looking at?

Planning is going very well. We've booked chair covers, flowers, cake, post box and dj so far.

I love The Lawns, on a beautiful summers day, but if it rains, things are a bit limited inside.

There is only the lounge, on the left as you walk in the door, and the bar... It does mean that if things are wet it's very, very crowded inside, with very few options for photography...

Other than that, I love the place!

Gary's nice! He is friends with someone I knew from school! But in the end we went with a guy called Barry paffey!

Have you booked the chair covers from the person they said you had to use? I haven't phoned her yet (should do that soon!). Also which dj have you gone for? X

We're getting married there next year, the owners are so lovely and we can't wait! I'd definitely recommend going to one of their quarterly gourmet evenings.. the food is lovely and the drink is pretty free flowing! You don't need to worry about the food at all!

The only thing I'm scared of is the staircase. Still, if I'm concentrating on not falling at least it will hopefully stop me from being a blubbering mess!!

What colour theme are you thinking of using? I'm trying to work out what would look best in the Orangery?

I am absolutely terrifying myself over the damn stairs! They seemed like such a good idea until someone told me not to fall!!
