I enjoyed this book too, and think the film looks good. Would rather have seen Ryan Gosling in it though, than Mark Walberg.

I loved the start of the book but I lost interest as I got past halfway. The trailer looks pretty good though.

    The trailer looks rather good.

I've never read the book though, I might just have to go out and buy it.

Sorry, but I thought the book was pants. Couldn't understand why everyone was so excited by it. I'm an athiest though so maybe that affected my enjoyment?

I've not read the book either but that trailer has convinced me to read it before going to see the film. I always like to read the book first so that I can compare it to the film but most of the time I still prefer the book!

How weird I just read the book yesterday in one sitting, I loved it. I'm unconvinced about a film though, captin correlli the film was trash once I'd read the book

I found the book to be an interesting read. Didn't 'enjoy' it, as such, given both the content and the parallels with Seabold's own experiences, but found it compelling.

I really didn't see how it could possibly translate to film (and I didn't know it was my little hobbit chum, PJ who was directing), but the trailer really looks like it has done wonders. And hopefully, focused on the more joyful (not the right word but hopefully ykwim) parts as opposed to the macabre.

Ty for posting the link ?

I didn't like the book. I had a nightmare after reading the murder scene and the rest of it just annoyed me.

I couldn't understand why everyone raved about it either.

I found the book mawkish and meretricious. One of the worst books I've ever read.

Blimey Knownowt, meretricious! I hadn't a clue what that meant so I typed it into Word but the thesaurus hadn't a clue either. So I typed it into Dictionary.co.uk and it said it meant "pertaining to prostitutes" and I was really confused ?

Thankfully, the Cambridge Dictionary Online site came to my rescue and I agree with you. Maybe my 'pants' comment was a little simplistic! ?

I have to say, I also hated this book. I couldn't understand what all the fuss was about. In fact I don't think I even finished it.

Oh. i liked the book as much as you can like a book with that content. Not sure a film will do it any justice though.

The trailer has just left me feeling a bit....well...meh!! But then I don't remember loving the book either. Funnily enough, I read it about this time last year, and it's sat in a box to go to charity so I migh hook it out again just to be sure.
