The night before.......

claireac, 20 March, 2009 at 16:24 Posted on Planning 0 5

I just wondered if anyone else was planning on spending the night before their wedding day with their h2b?

We've been living together for 4ish years and have 2yr old daughter. We hardly ever spend the night apart, and when we do I can't sleep!! So we've decided that we want to spend the night at home as normal, which prob means with a 2yr old madam between us ?!

The odd person I've mentioned this to, has been horror struck because of course it's meant to be bad luck to see each other on the day. I'm sure you get the picture!!

If you want to spend the night with your OH then I don't see the problem. I'm staying at the hotel the night before but that's only because my dad is paying for a room for me, I would be staying at home otherwise.

I don't see why not. I think you should do what ever it is you want and not worry about what happens traditionally.

I'm staying at the hotel the night before mainly because it's more practical and H2B is staying at home which is only 2 mins away.

I have the same problem, my OH was away for a meeting on Monday and i was wide awake until 3 in the morning, i really dont want that the night before my wedding as no amount of make up will help me after a bads night sleep!!

He will probably spend the night at his mums and my mum is coming down on the thursday so she will be with me and the kids

I don't know why people are so surprised to be honest!

It's more practical for us, and keeps little one settled. Then h2b can pick his daughter up in the morning (or night before) and they're both here with us. I'm having my done at the salon at 12 so he could drop me off and look after the kids. Mum will pick me up!! I Don't want him seeing the hair lol. Not decided where we're getting ready yet, but I'll be at my Mums or at home and h2b will be at bm's or at home (if I'm not there!).

I suppose I should sort these things out!!

I don't know what we're doing yet. We had the brainwave of Iain booking in at the hotel where we're spending our wedding night, but turns out they don't have any rooms free.

So we're considering just staying together......although I have a feeling that the traditionalists amoungst our families will be horrified!

I stayed at my friends house along with my BM. My H was in a hotel with his BM. We couldn't have stayed at our flat the night before as we got married in my parents village, miles from where we live.

On another note, I quite like it when my H is away - I get more bed & duvet to myself ? I can't imagine you'll be able to sleep well the night before your wedding anyway, whether your h2b is with you or not
