My personal one is when people ask about the flowers. I'm not having any, I chose my venue as it didn;t really need dressing up, it's a really nice hotel restaurant - their reponse.. but you have to have flowers.. NO, I don't, if you really don't want to come to a wedding without flowers, don't.

I'm a bit sick of when I tell one of my friends something she keeps going Oh thats good, I'll do that. She's getting married the week before me - so our mutual friends will feel like their at wedding mark 2.

Ooh and slightly off topic and childish, but non-fluffy. Does anyone else giggle when people mention STD's on here?

Exactly. Also when people have said to us. "Awww but don't you want to get married in church?" My answer- "No we do not, neither of us are religious, We are not going to pretend that we believe in it all just to be hypocritical and have the idyllic venue that is a church. We do not like or want it, so shove off!!"

We're having a civil ceremony, because neither of us are remotely religious - I'm bordering on atheist. My bloomin mother, queries why we're having a sponge wedding cake when surely we need a fruit cake to save the top tier for the first christening.... ?

She then gets all hissy when I state the bleedin obvious and wonders why I'm bothering to ask my Godparents.... erm because YOU got me Christened, that doesn't mean I'm the hypocrite

I hate it when people say why dont u just have a cheap wedding rather than spending all that money when you could put it towards a new house. Well its my wedding, im paying for it, I want a big wedding so f*&* off!!!!!!

Nice excuse for a little rant, excuse my PMT winge..nice thread.

I wish that that people would not always talk about the wedding everytime i see them. I wish my OH would like to actively talk about it without rolling his eyes first.Very of wedding planning and money issues and also sick of analyzing if will look *** in the photo's/too pale/too fat/hair look stupid etc.

I would like to have a few months off from thinking about it but i can't now as i am the only one planning everything.

Looove this thread and its come in perfect time for me as I had one of my first taste of parent interference regarding the junior birdesmaid dresses for their daughter. Although she didn't say this to me she winged and bitched to my mum and nan about it I got to hear it second hand.

Would love to respond with - if they want to be my bridesmaid, she will be wearing this and it will be this style and colour. However if you feel this is unacceptable I will gladly let one of my best friends take her place - choice is yours!

She's not bloody paying for it all we are - amd I'm not going to dress them like drag queens or a hooker so get over it. And you don't like the colour scheme - really?? Well sorry Mrs I don't care - you made me wear a rust coloured, high necked, floor length shapeless dress with puffball sleeves in a fabric so shiny I could see your smug face in it.

Yep my dear payback is a b***h - maybe I should dress your daughter as hooker!!!!

    Sorry rant over

See if one more person asks me this.......... and when you get the same people asking you everytime they see you. ("How do you think it's going? I'm stressed out of my box, 100 things to do, can't find the time to do it, no money to do it, gettin hassled from everyone left right and centre, feel like I ain't gonna manage to pull it all together in time).....................but yeah, thanks for asking the planning is going great"

I think I'm the only person on H who really doesn't get the point of STDs. What ever happened to good old word of mouth? And surely that's committing to a guest list when it's over a year to go until the wedding and things might change???

I hate the fact that my bridesmaid told me she didnt want me to walk down the aisle to a song we chose because she was going to have it at her wedding...but didnt.

dont ask. my blood has just reached simmering point rather than boiling.

I also hate on hitched when people ask the forum things they should ask their venue. 'Will my venue hire chair covers? will they do this food, that food? ' I dont f&*ing know!!!! ASK THEM!!!!

I also hate people saying, "oooh when you have kids this" and "when you have kids that"... not for the same reasons as some of you though! I hate it cos we want to have kids and have been trying for a baby for ages and have been referred for IVF.

It may not happen for us, but people seem to think we have chosen this and say things like, "when are you going to start a family"- it's none of your business, don't make assumptions and shut it. People don't seem to think about other people's feelings. Having children is a private decision (unless we decide to talk about it) so but out ?

    ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

    I feel better now ?

We have told those we really want at the wedding to save the date (or told our parents to spread the word) as for some other people (my great aunt and uncle) I really hope they have made other plans... ?

    LOVING THIS THREAD!

    Married BM's....DON'T DO IT!

All I get is..."When I did it..." or "Oh I wouldn't do that..." or "Are you sure because, for us....."

Listen LADY this isn't your wedding this is MINE!

And while I'm on the subject can I just add that whilst she is a VERY good friend of mine she's stated that she will CATEGORICALLY not be staying with the rest of the Bridal party at the Premier Inn across the road from the Church, instead she's going to stay a few miles a way in a QUOTE "nicer hotel"!!!?

I think Save the Date's are a bit pointless, even though I sent a few! I put it down to excitement of wanting to do something. I'm so pleased I only sent a handful though - why tie yourself to some more peripheral guests so soon?!

If I had my planning time again, I wouldn't have bothered at all.

I can't bare the STD abbreviation either!
