    It's Maggie.....

Sorry the pic is a bit blurry, you can see the detail on the website. The one I tried on was a size 14 and I'm a 20 so it doesn't sit quite right but still felt great!!!!

    Thanks!

I think I am going to keep looking, just to make sure! There are several Maggie dresses I like so might try see a few more of them. I'm not one for an impulse buy so I'll have to shop around, then take my girls [and MIL :-( ] to make sure.

I did get "that" feeling though!!

Oh....I also need to ring Dad and ask him to up the budget....eeeek!!.....or get it from China???

Thanks Katie!! Yup size 20, was 22, hoping to get to 16/18. The dress was only a 14, obv massive gap at back but I was worried I wouldn't be able to try it on at all. It was gorge though! I can't stop thinking about it, I want to go back now and see it again!!!

I keep looking at the photos. I love it!!!! Aaaahhh!

Wish I could've got better photos, I wasn't allowed to take any :-} I sneakily took one on my mobile when the lady nipped to get me a veil!!

Wow, actually it looks better on you than on that model! I am usually very honest and I tell it how it is. I love Maggie dresses and although my "The One" is a Ronald Joyce, because it's from the 2009 Collection I was told it may get discontinued before I am ready to order it, so I looked up a few more and fell in love with a few Maggies. I liked Annalise but it felt a bit "too much" and even on the model on the website it looks a bit too "full", i don't know how to describe it. But on you it looks superb!!! And it seriously slims you as well if you say you are a 20 because looking at that pic I guessed 16 before I read your post. I am a 16-18 right now and the dress i wanted to try was a 14 but it didn't fit at all! I couldn't step into it because it wouldn't go past my hips and I couldn't put it over my head either because it wouldn't go past my 38DDs!

So it's nice to see someone getting the WOW factor and try on the dress and love it.

Why do they never let you take pictures?? I was told the same when I tried mine and thought it was just my shop...

Most shops are very against photographs because they don't want you going into another shop and showing them a picture and getting it cheaper I guess. Some shops change all the names of dresses so you don't know what to search for on the internet again. I think it's a silly rule.

Aaaaah that's gorgeous. I love Maggie dresses. I'm gonna go dress shopping in the next couple of weeks so looking forward to 'that moment' you've had where you find the one....... Plus I don't wanna make a big deal of the size thing but you look nowhere near a size 20, which I'm very happy about cos that's my size and I was really worried about it. You look beautiful hun, good choice ?

It IS a silly rule!!! You can still go to any shop anyway... I noticed the name change as well, and initially was very surprised that the ladies in the shop kept asking for the dress "number" rather than the name so i guess because they keep changing the name of the dress from shop to shop they can only identify it from the number ...

Aww that is truly beautiful - I love it and you look fab - I tried this exact dress on yesterday an I have to say you carry it off a million times better than I did!

Before I had been laced in my mom, best friend and auntie were all nodding saying it was perfect - and it did look good on me when I was standing on the wedding stand which add about 7 inches to my height but one I stood down on the floor I looked awful - the joys of being small Smiley sad

I have gone for this: (sorry I don't know how to flash!)

and the woman wouldn't let me take pics until I had paid the deposit, when I had taken the dress off! grrr.

Thank You all for the lovely comments :-)

I've "slept on it" and still love it. I am arranging a full day dress shopping with my MOH next Sat, then going to this shop last, with Mum and MIL too, then I'll defo know if it's "the one".

The photo rule is silly!! And changing the name! Any fool can remember the designer's name then go online and look through the dresses! They had changed the name of mine in the shop but as soon as I saw it on the Maggie website I recognised it! If I wanted to copy it I'd just do it off the website?!

On the topic of copies....I have found the dress on a couple of Chinese/"copy" websites....really not sure I want to run the risk, now that I have fallen in love with the real thing I'd be scared of being disappointed...

Thanks for all the comments ladies! I'm offline all week (away with work dammit!) but will update next week once I've had my mass trying on day with MOH :-)

    xxx

Thanks - I was very excited. I am about a size 10/12 in "normal" clothes but I had to really breathe in to get the 12 over my bottom - very odd as usually it's my boobs which can't get in a smaller size... anyone else found this?

I also find it strange how different dresses look so different on different people! But I guess that is the same as normal stuff! haha. x

Apparently wedding dresses always come up a size or two smaller than 'regular' clothes. I seme to remember reading once that it's because high street dress sizes have been 'enlarged' over the decades while wedding dress sizes haven't.

I am a size 10 on top and 12-14 on bottom and my dress is ordered in a size 12, anything smaller would be too tight across the bust - nice to have that particular problem for a change! ? And because the dress is A-line and flares out at the waist, fitting into it 'that end' shouldn't be a problem (fingers crossed!).

Your dress is lovely, I also nearly went for a Phil Collins dress but fell for my Sincerity dress in the end ?
