The Railway Man

Has anyone seen? I hadn't known what it was about but it came highly recommended so I went.

To say I had tears streaming down my face is an understatement. I came home with a sore chest from holding it in then I cried for a wee minute because I finally could.

Was thinking of getting the book on my kindle last night but got distracted. May have to purchase it now, books are usually better than the films that follow so I will get the tissues ready!?

Did you know it was a true story?

The co-writer and Colin Firth went to meet the main character Eric Lomax. From reading his auto-biography they thought they knew how to portray him - but speaking to him made them change the character quite a bit. He was 91, but sadly died in October 2012, so he never got to see his movie.

I've read the book which was very good, but don't think I could go anywhere near the (alleged) graphic nature of the film.

I think that I have seen the trailer but I can't remember what it is about? Does Colin Firth look really old in it? I think that that's what might have distracted me!

I went to see 12 Years a Slave last night and that was also a great film.

I welled up at the trailer, think I will be best waiting to watch it in the safety of my own home! Also feel the same about 12 years a Slave.
