The spring clean has started!

MrsShep, 11 April, 2015 at 13:05 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 14

And I'm feeling better already :-) Ive started in my wardrobe, so I'm trying it on, if it doesn't fit its gone, if it's too young now (some of it really is!) Its gone, and if its still good it's organised and put back. Currently have a full bin bag to throw and a half bag for charity.

Turns out so am I! Half of the throw away pile are trousers that have huge holes in but they were my favourite pair so I kept them. Ridiculous! We live e in a one bedroom flat and we're overflowing, so I have to be more ruthless. Im probably still erring on the side of caution in some cases but I desperately want to have enough room to put most if not all of my clothes away, at the moment my bedroom looks like one of those crazy horders on TV! I have a bit of a clothes obsession so own way too many, but its a start :-)

I've had to stop for the day because I'm having a reaction (to dust, shows how long some of it has been sat there!) But its looking better. H thinks 25 pairs of jeans is excessive though ?

I know what you mean about dust. Covered in the stuff! Have been called back to parents' house this weekend to go through all my school and university work and books. Who knew plastic boxes under the bed got coated in such thick dust?

Ha, chucklevision, some of the stuff had huge holes in (I wear through trousers at the thighs, sexy!) Some of it was just so wrong (tiny denim skirts) and a couple of hilarious dresses that were truly slutty (I've never been brave enough to wear them, they still had the tags on!)

Miss winter, that is just the full length jeans, it doesn't include the denim shorts or cut offs, or any of the non denim trousers, shorts etc!

I'm forever throwing things out. If I haven't worn it/ used it by 6 months it goes.

I like to be clutter free, I also like to hide 'crap', I don't like anything on show that looks out of place, my other half says I'm OCD. I don't know what makes him think that lol!

Oh yeah, those are just the wearable ones! I didn't count what I chucked! I did divide them into two piles, one slightly larger and one slightly smaller, most are the same size but fit a little differently. As i fluctuate a bit that helps. I don't think I ever need to buy jeans again! I really wish we had a loft or something, it would be great to be able to put all the shorts etc away in the winter and then all the jumpers for the summer. I knew I had a shopping obsession and that I like to have a wide variety of clothes to wear, but didnt realise it was so unusual, but I can't help it. All my cardigans and jumpers are in the boiler cupboard! And don't even ask about my shoes ?

Here is an example of how I have way too much stuff! The cupboard that should just have towels etc in it...

Bloody hell MrsShep! I thought I was bad with my numerous dresses and suits! Actually maybe I would be if I wasn't slowly filling the loft.
