The Timewaster Letters

What a fab, fab book! It was recommended on here about 3 days after a friend told me about it (one of her ex-colleagues is in it!), so I bought it with my birthday money.

It is brilliant. I keep laughing out loud, and when Mr FtG asks what I am laughing at, and I try and read him a bit, I struggle to get to the end without laughing too hard to continue reading.

The Timewaster Letters

It's very short, and quick to read, but highly recommendable. Might be good if you have a short, bitty commute where you don't have time to get into anything. (As long as you don't mind laughing in public).

Great book. Bought it for my uncle as a Christmas present a few years ago and then bought it again as I'd ended up reading his copy! The second one is also good, but not as good.

I think it was me that recommended it on the book thread - glad to see you've enjoyed it as much as I did, although I also suffered the thing you describe of trying to read aloud to my husband some extracts, and having to stop because I couldn't finish reading through laughing too hard.

I love this format - I remember the Henry Root letters in the 70s. I still laugh myself sick if I ever happen to read it.
