    Bap for sure.

I remember asking for a bap in Manchester once when I was working and I got told "you mean a barm". I said "no, I mean a bap" and I was then told "no, you definitely mean a barm" ?

Tea cakes do NOT have currants, that would be a CURRANT tea cake! ?

They call them barms over here, I am forever getting it wrong. I ask for a dab tea cake, they ask me if I mean a scallop barm. ?

Barm cakes. Not baps. And tea cakes most certainly DO have currents, it's the law.

Kat, you're near Preston aren't you? I had a butter pie there. I have indigestion just thinking about it now, but it was lush!?

I'm fighting a losing battle with a baby that's refusing to sleep and currently $hitting for England, so I don't have enough time to rant to full effect, but....

    This is a bread roll

    These are teacakes

And these are the various guises of a cob

All other titles for the humble bread roll are, frankly, silly and pointless.

And as for mushy peas - wrong wrong wrongity wrong. Any sane and sensible person will know this.

They are not proper bakeries if they make teacakes without currants. Why would you do that?!

    Waaaaah Mazzy! ? ?

Petal, you can even get a 'pastie barm' in Bolton - a meat and potato pastie on a tea cake with tomato ketchup. Totally rank, but my friend loves them!

Mushy peas are not wrong! They are yum! I had them served in a jug with my fish and chips in a posh pub last week, they were LUSH.

Mazzy, mushy peas were invented by God. They are the ultimate versatile thing and I have them on everything! They're so nice and yummy! I even had them with nachos as an alternative to guacamole!

And marrowfats are a sadly underused and sneered at veg. Garden peas disgust me. but marrowfats are a compliment to any meal.

OMG Holly Bags. I neeeed to move into your house! My mouth is watering ?

I remember when I was in New Zealand they did these amazing luscious individual shepherd's pies. I lived off them for weeks because it was the only 'take away' food I could afford!

Next time I see you, I'll bring you some scouse and dumplings. It's always better the day after. It kind of ferments a bit. Mr.P might have to drive you home though as you'll be conked out on the back seat, tummy hanging over the edge...!
