Hearts is a really good place to start, you can encorperate it into stationary, jewellery, table decs and lots of extras. I guess them you just need to pick a colour scheme to add to your theme now.

I chose feathers, which are in my stationary, bouquet, hair and table decs. then chose cream and gold to complement the theme.

Og course some people have vintage 30s or safari or medieval weddings which are alot of fun, but take alot of individual creativity!

    Hi,

I don't think you need a theme as such if you don't want one.

With the colour theme and the hearts, that is enough to tie everything together.

Here is a couple of heart invites for inspiration ?

We're having a Country/Summer Fete theme...purely based on the fact we're having a Hog Roast for sit down not 3 course. Bouncy castle. Sweet Stall...and then all the ideas started flooding in!

Our venue is also very plain and boring, and in the middle of the countryside...so bringing it to life with a mixtre of colours would be fab!

    We're having a sci-fi theme!

Started out just with us deciding to use our favourite sci-fi movies and tv shows as the table names, then we wanted to use some of our vast collection of memorabilia to decorate the tables - and it all just spiralled from there!

It's easier if you have something like that which you share with your h2b and people identify with you. We're well known for being massive geeks, so it makes sense for us to have this as our theme (our website is called Geeks In Love, lol). I know a couple who are both bikers and incorporated that very tastefully into their theme, and it looked fab! My brother and his ex used to joke that their wedding would be all about guitars and drum kits because they were both in a band.

sammyjay I think your wedding is going to be ace!!!! I love that you're really putting yourselves into it IYSWIM. So many weddings are the same except for different coloured flowers and dresses - it really makes all the difference when the B&G's personalities are thrown in - it's the biggest day of your life, why on earth wouldn't you want it to reflect you both??

My OH has actually made a lot of the big decisions so far - I'm completely happy with it all as all I'm really bothered about is marrying him. He's picked the venue (much cheaper than anywhere else so definitely happy with this), the colours are dictated by the venue really (but I'm happy enough with one of them, the other one will only be present in flowers LOL), favours will fit in with the theme too - generally everyone there will know exactly whose wedding it is which is the whole point. I'm making a lot of stuff myself so it'll have an overall fun and hopefully informal and welcoming air to it - our venue is not posh at all and so having a very formal do just wouldn't work, so we're keeping it fun, it's all about us and it's going to be brilliant (hopefully!!!)

Also, making things means I know it definitely all ties in together and colours match perfectly, and it keeps me busy on an evening!

I'm not going to expect my guests to dress up in a theme - that's taking it a bit far in my eyes - but I love having some common threads to pull everything together
