I should think I will probably lurk here. But the way we are being treated, I should be surprised if it's still going by Christmas. Such a shame.

I'm so completely bored of all this wingeing & flouncing (granted it should have been dealt with better), but I'm staying here and putting up with it, it is a bit faster than it was.

Is it wrong to feel a bit precious about something that I have been a part of constantly for 6 years?

I couldn't log on to the new one this morning - was on there last night but not many planners and gave up - apparently there are about 250 members on there now - but me thinks most of them are off topic.

I've registered with the new one but will probably lurk here and occassionally post...think Darren needs to be given the boot though, he can't come across all authoritive cos he can't handle a slap on the wrists but whoever.

Im staying put too, most of what makes this forum so good is the great people on here, yes there are issues with speed, but they are being sorted albeit a little slowly but they will get better and I like everyone on hitched!

Well, slap me in the face with a piece of wet cod (is that allowed?) looks like it's up and running again! I've been checking all day from my bookmarked page for Hitched which I've had since dick's days and all I got was a one liner saying it was broken....... so, I thought I'll just try and log on through Google instead and here it is!

Has the email In Box thingy been mended then?

Thank goodness there will be some people still on here. I have registered with the brides wedding forum and I don't like it! It's rubbish! I love coming on hitched, i feel comfortable and I am so pleased that there will still be you lot for me to feed my exceptionally bad hitched addiction.

*prepares to be flamed* I feel like some people here just thrive on the drama. To go to another board because the board is so slow is fair enough but for people to flounce off in a huff cos they've been told off for swearing is just ridiculous. I'm not perfect, I know I have likely sworn on here on many occasions but I can totally see the point that this is not a private forum and kids can access this so understand the need for toning down the language.

And I really don't think the mods will be bothered if a few people leave. Hitched won't fall apart without a few people (as much as I would miss some people here, it won't collapse)!

I've used hitched over the last 7 years since I myself got engaged and I agree with Sher that gone are the days when you would post a topic and within minutes it was on page two, however, I've always enjoyed Hitched. I did use Bridesweddingforum for a while and offered help and advice but really due to time, i didn't have the time to post on lots of forums (Sher I don't know how you do it!?) and stuck with the site I like the best as well as get the most response from. I know that Mrs A who started BWF has worked extremely hard at getting it going and I am glad to hear people talking of it. We always talked about it being as big as hitched and maybe it will be!

I will keep coming onto Hitched and offering help and advice to those who need it....

I've been using hitched for less than a year and i seem to lurk more than actually post. I am of the opinion that its the people that use these boards which makes it what it is. I see Mels new site then not as an alternative (an either or) but as a back up - when hitched is down/getting upgraded/running extra slow etc then people meet there until hitched is back again.

I like it here because of the openess and honesty from all hitchers (some a little too honest lol) and thats what makes it different from any other wedding forum.

I will defo keep returning and if i find it not working one day then i will merge over to satin lovers where i hope i will continue to get the same laughs and spirit that i do over here.

But i will not start flouncing about it... its no big deal!!! ?

Buts thats just my opinion - 1 week and all will be forgotten lol

I'll stay here, but I think the other site is great when Hitched goes down. Although, I think it's more for OTers than WPers, and I'll probably lurk more than post if I go over there.

Slightly confused by those saying "I'm sticking with hitched as its the community I love/am used to" etc. Surely its the people that make the community, and if they've decamped...?

I think I might be a "scary OTer" but the new forum seems really good - you can play around with the layout to make it more like this one. The WP forum on there needs new people - it would be so great if people who are getting a bit fed up of this forum, had someone similar to go. It's not just a few people - there were 442 people registered there at the last count.

(I've been married 5 years now and I remember my time on WP very fondly, although I'm mostly on BT and OT now, I do love coming on here for a lurk and a nose at all the pretty frocks!)

I was kinda peeved this morning when I finally caught up with all that had gone on and seeing what had happened with regards to a lot of the regulars (ie their departure to other shores) - and I know the other site thats been set up has a lot of O/T folk on there already, but not many WPers and thats my passion so for two reasons I'll be sticking around - firstly cos there are more WPs on here and cos I've paid for my advertising thru' til next year!

I think its a poor show that so many people have been pee'd off with Darrens telling off, and that he's not been back to explain (leaving it to Dean) - although there does seem to be a 'Darren' on the other site who has posted once or twice (one particular post made me lol!) and i'm not sure if its the 'real' Darren or not!

The other site is great for O/T I think but not so good for WPers as it'll take forever to build up to the amount of regulars we have on here and I hope the regular WP folk from here hang around or come back if they've gone away for the moment... although I have registered with the other site too, so will keep an eye on what goes on over there...

Have been on OT on the other site a fair bit, it's brilliant!! Will stick around on here for WP though as most people seem to be staying. Even if I am an OM!
