There's nothing funny about unfortunate names

Absolutely nothing.

And don't let immature sniggering types try to tell you different.

I didn't snigger. I aslo didn't snigger when my friend told me she lived on a road called bell end (just off mincing lane) or when we drove through weedon.

...and I bought a local paper in the town of French Lick, Indiana, because I wanted to find out what was happening, and not for any other reason.

I've still got it somewhere - it's called the Springs Valley Herald, and if there's a more boring publication anywhere on the planet I have yet to come across it. And I see it now has a website, so you can check it out for yourself.

PS) Under normal circumstances I'd have spotted the phrase "come across it" just before I clicked on 'Post' and would of course have changed it to something less open to misinterpretation. But because we're all behaving politely in this thread, I thought I'd leave it.

When I was house hunting for my last house I found a house on Slack Bottom Road. I didn't go to see it for some reason.....

On my commute these days, I pass Cottagers Close.

ETA I drove past Spital in the Street at the weekend. I couldn't work out if it was a warning or an instruction!

I sometimes have to drive down Bell End for work. It's in Northamptonshire somewhere.

    Boringly, Thong is pronounced 'Tong'.

    That's dull isn't it?
