Things that are worrying you about Your big day.....

BrogstarBride, 16 February, 2013 at 20:17 Posted on Planning 0 35

I have a few lol, maybe some silly things but still....

-Paying for everything all the balances at the same time due 6weeks before wedding

-Getting something on my dress (it will be on for 14 hours! and we have profiteroles for dessert lol!)

-Losing weight for the wedding, I'm a size 14 not big but feel there is this assumption that you are expected to lose shed loads of weight for your wedding

-Children skidding across my dance floor

-The weather

Not too big a list haha xx

Looking fat, old and wrinkly on my pics, damaging my dress, someone getting zo trollied they spoil it (tho Tbh its a relaxed do anyway and I doubt that will happen). But the MAJOR thing worrying me is that I'll have a panic attack on my way to or arriving at church and thinking I am going to faint. I've not had one in quite a while and know how to deal with them, but usually find my best cures are chewing gum, drinking water, belching and whistling..... Hardly the sort of blushing bride entrance I want to make lol! It is a genuine concern tho, so I'm hoping that worrying about it beforehand will have the reverse effect and ill be well prepared and just excited when the time comes xx

Honestly I really wouldn't worry about those things!

Paying for everything - well as long as your wedding is within your means then this shouldn't be an issue, nothing should be a surprise. I actually found myself paying some things early so I could tick off my list!!

Getting something on your dress - just be careful, but at the end of the day it's there to be worn and to have fun in so as long as the ceremony and photos are done...

Losing weight. Sod expectation, if you don't want to lose loads of weight then don't. As long as your dress fits!!

Children skidding?! I'm not sure I really understand this one.. I want all my guests to have fun!!

Weather, no point worrying, plan for every possibility.

The things I am worried about are:

Someone being ill.. especially OH or I.

A death or serious injury in the run up. this would put a massive spin on our plans.

I'm not too concerned about much really. I'm a bit of a control freak and have lists for everything but as long as I have taken everything with me the night before then I'll be happy. I do worry I've missed something off the list though.

It is feasible it could snow (wedding in 6 weeks) but my main concern about that is that it would cause problems for suppliers/guests getting there.

People asking me questions on the day like where is this and what time is that, as my response will be I don't know or care?

    Sweating profusely!!

Dry lips, shiny face= bad pics?

Folk turning up late to the church, as I arrive?

People not singing the hymns just miming lol!!

Folk not dancing and having a good time.

I know the drinks are not cheap and it won't be a paid bar so folk thinking we are cheap ( not a big concern but did pass through my thoughts)

As you can see a few random concerns!

Mrspetal, my son is 3 1/2 but a year ago OH's sister got married and she has a boy the same age as ours. The boys were great. Sweets during the ceremony were good and the kids did get hungry before the wedding breakfast but MIL had a couple of bananas luckily. He'll be grand honest x

I'm not worried about anything! Really! The things I can control or plan for, such as hayfever- having a lot of tablets on hand, weather- wellies and brollies at the ready etc, will be sorted with contingency plans in place. The rest I can't control so there is no point getting upset. If someone is really ill then they are ill and we will have to deal with it on the day, if it is oh or I then we will get a bucket ready and make our vows through retches if we have to lol.

I'm totally calm, not worried at all about anything. I've got everything planned and I know exactly when everything is happening, if something happens that is unplanned well I'll just deal with it. I'm doing a wedding toilet basket for the girls so at has lots of things in it should any of my guests get problems with their outfits or sick etc.

If you stress and worry it will only be worse for your nerves on the day Smiley smile

Things I worried about for the wedding:-

    1. My Grandpa not being able to attend.

    2. My nose running as I walk down the aisle or during the ceremony (this always happens to me and I have tissues always up my sleeve)

    3. Getting food poisoning the night before the wedding.

    4. My hair looking stupid (I do have stupid hair)

    5. The trains/tubes would go down.

    6. London Marathon was happening the same weekend.

My Grandpa was able to make the wedding, which was the most amazing thing.

    My nose didn't run.

I ate at Pizza Express the night before with 2 of my bridesmaids

I got a great hair and make-up girl.

South West Trains and TFL ran very smoothly.

The point i am trying to make is that on the day, everything just comes together and you don't notice or worry about a thing. You are far too busy enjoying yourself, and by that point, something going wrong is somebody else's problem!

My list of nerves is getting longer and longer the more I think about it.

    - My shoe falling off half way down the isle

    - Needing a wee and not being able to get out my dress in time

    - My guests being bored as we have a few different groups of people coming and they might not mingle much

    - Crying so much that I can't say my vows

    - Not losing the weight I want to in time for my dress fitting

I think I better stop thinking about it!!!

-being stressed in the week before the wedding

-people not having an amazing time

-people getting bored in between bits, thinking the day lasts too long

-people not liking our choice of meal, since they have no choice (we haven't even had our tasting yet!)

-what are we going to do with Wispa now that the dog walker can't look after her and bring her for the photos?? (typing this out just made me call a boarder - she's going to get picked up from Hever before the meal starts so she'll just be around for photographs - sorry, Nutty, I know you were interested in watching her!)

    -not feeling beautiful

... I'm not too fussed about most things, I just want to make sure everyone is happy!!

-Having a cold, or OH having a cold

    -It snowing/raining

-It being too cold for my dress (it's sleeveless and I have no cover up planned)

-It being too hot so I sweat

-People not turning up on time and me noticing them sneaking in once it's started

-Anyone getting drunk and making a fool of themselves and stressing me out

    -Someone standing on my dress

-The usher not getting there on time (he can't come the day before so will be travelling from London to Northamptonshire on the day

-My dress not fitting how it should because I've put on or lost weight since thefitting

-There being an issue with the flowers (it's one if the only the things you can't actually see until the day and this bothers my control freak tendencies!)

-People causing a fuss over not liking their meals

    -Nobody dancing

-Not having enough evening buffet to go round

-Feeling exhausted due to lack of sleep

    Hmmm, I sound like a bit of a serial worrier don't I!!

    1. Looking like an idiot in the photos; we don't have a single photo of us together in the 11 years we've been a couple...there's a reason for that!

    2. People complaining about the food

    3. My mum and dad having a ruck, or falling out with each others' new partners

    4. My brother getting too p*ssed to play in the band at the reception

That's about it, really! My plan is to get wrecked and just ignore everything that goes wrong. These are all, basically, things I can't control- so I'm not going to lose sleep!

Wow, I wasn't expecting to come across someone else with Crohn's ? I'm in surgery-induced remission right now and hopefully it will stay that way for the wedding. Hope everything goes well for your wedding too.
