Things to do of an evening in London.......and Play recommendations....

HensEnds, 1 September, 2008 at 12:24 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 5

Any ideas? We'll be going out for a lunch for our anniversary to a nice restaurant in London. We had planned on going to the Theatre in the evening but not sure what to see. We've already seen Mousetrap, Woman in Black and 39 Steps. Can anybody recommend a good play?

Also, if we don't go to the theatre can you recommend an alternative activity (which does not involve eating!).

Thanks

What sort of plays do you like (comedy, drama etc). When are you going?

As far as alternative activities - there are millions. Any of the galleries, the museums, the London Eye, the aquarium...it really depends what you enjoy doing.

    Thanks.

Any plays are fine. It will be a Saturday evening towards the end of Sept. Just looking for somebody who has recently seen something, thought it was good and would like to recommend it?

Also meant to say that sorry my 'other recommendations' was a bit vague wasn't it?

Sorry - I got waylaid at work this afternoon and couldn't reply.

Most of the plays I've seen recently have ended their run. I saw Fat Pig a few months ago at the Trafalgar and it was great. That's transferring to the Comedy Theatre next week, but the male half of the cast is changing - so I don't know what that will be like. I can also recommend Timon of Athens and Midsummer Night's Dream at the Globe.

Actor's grapevine recommends - Ivanov; Rain Man and Her Naked Skin.

    Thanks for your help.

I think Fat Pig may be the way to go. I was speaking with a friend today and they also recommended that one so Fat Pigs it is....assuming they have tickets.
