Things you didn't know, but probably should...

A lighthearted one for a Sunday evening. Apologies if this has been done before! I just found out that Leeds Castle isn't in Leeds. It's actually nowhere near Leeds, instead being in Kent. Quite how this knowledge hadn't presented itself to me before now, I have no idea, but I'm boggled. Why not...

I just found out that Leeds Castle isn't in Leeds. It's actually nowhere near Leeds, instead being in Kent. Quite how this knowledge hadn't presented itself to me before now, I have no idea, but I'm boggled. Why not call it Kent Castle??

Same. In the last handful of years or so, I've also found that some people think we existed at the same time as dinosaurs.

    Sorry wasn't very clear,

As in one egg would have a label saying it was for eating another would say this is a baby chick, she didn't realise they were one and the same.

In this case, finding them a year later may have been a much more traumatic experience!

I used to think this too. I thought that there were 2 types of chickens... one who laid eggs you can eat and one who laid eggs that hatched,

Had a disagreement with some one I worked with, I was talking about how people are living longer and pressures on the system etc then they piped up Oh no people are not living longer people are dying much sooner and having far less children. In the bible *insert religious name of choice* some people live for hundreds of years and have hundreds of children...I laughed (thinking they were joking) But no, they were deadly serious ?

When my brother and I were little our parents convinced us that there were fairies living at the bottom of the garden. They even recorded on tape one fairy talking to us in a squeaky type voice. We believed it for years. They find it hilarious!

As a kid my dad told me and my brother to shout "GREEN" at red traffic lights to make them change.

Then we'd high five each other in celebration!!

My cousin thought that the sun could only set into the sea. He was 28 before he realised that wasn't right.

The same cousin's sister in law never realised that you could see the moon in the day time. She assumed it was a planet during the day and an entirely separate moon which could only be seen at night because thats when the light turned on.

D was convinced as a child that all chauffeurs were called James, because of the saying 'Home, James.'
