Well..... after much time spent here trying to contribute to threads I really do feel its time for me to go......... Need to find another forum to fill the gap but having no such like finding anywhere!

Many of my fellow brides have left totally, moved to BT or Deadwood and I dont feel i'm gelling with the new brides coz i'm not one, lol.

All the very best with your weddings, wishing you and your OHs the very best for a fabulous future together. Maybe i'll see you over on BT when the time is right.......depends on if anyone knows me in a years time! lolol....

Erm... I can't find the words to explain ? It was just relating to comments about OT being quiet and people leaving. Not sure i'm making sense anymore ?

Glad others feel the same as me!! Phew! ?

Am i right in thinking you mean if people went to OT rather than leaving, then it would get busier?

GB, were you about when there was the MASSIVE hoo-har about the Hitched bods?! Because it was soon after that, that most of the regular OT-ers moved onto a forum that one of the ex-WPers set up...that's why OT is dead now.

Teehee, sorry to see you 'go'. it is difficult when us OMs do get married as it's hard to muster the same sort of enthusiasm as newbies/b2bs for colour schemes and BM cravats and flowers etcetc when we've already done it, but i'm making a concerted effort to stay on here and post when i can to offer what advice i can. i totally agree with moya50, and sorry sherrie, think your comment was a little unreasonable - on a wedding planning forum, there's ALWAYS going to be a certain turnover of members given that once the wedding day is done, there's no need or motivation to stay. it might not be the same as 'ye times gone by', but i'm not sure how else anyone expects it to be? some people move to BT if they are TTCing, but most will leave after as they tended to use WP as a place to plan weddings. OT dying a death is a separate issue. FWIW i lurked on hitched for aaaaaaaaaaaages before i got engaged, and yes it's different people on now to before, but it doesn't make it any better or worse. ETA - sorry nona for hijacking the thread...

Well, i must say I didnt expect so many replies to my leaving!

I have been a faithful sticker-outer since July but if I dont leave now then I will prolly be divorced by the end of the week lololol..... I jest of course but my net addiction has always been a little too much and in order to remember who I married and why I married, I need to shift my arse off this small chair and back to the sofa. LOL. (also means ditching Ebay, BBC, Tes, random horoscope sites, homeware sites. etc etc etc)

In all seriousness though I just ramble randoms.........which might make you smile but arent that helpful, really. I will pop in from time to time and i'm keeping up with others baby news on BT.....

    I'm not on FB, no......

have a lovely weekend, will see you all soonish xxx

I think maybe to fair to Sherrie what she may have meant was that it isn't as busy as it used to be a few years ago not that it isn't as good. You could get 20 pages of posts in a day and spend 2 hours trying to catch up. In order to get that you need more people posting, part of this is that brides have a lot more forums to choose from now and there are nowhere near as many hibs on here now that they have to have the supplier logo, so that puts the posts down as well. We need to encourage more new members but I don't know how.

I've already told 2 of my friends who are also B2B's to join on hitched, and have dropped a few HIBS web addresses for them to look at ? it was a friend telling me about Hitched that made me have a look and join!! I do still kind of feel like i'm gate crashing at times, but have had some useful info which has really helped with my planning - or lack of at the moment. lol

All the Best Teehee and hope you keep popping back!! x

Thank you Carol, exactly what I was trying to say. I didn't mean any offence to the newbies when I say oldies, I meant the members that are already on here to encourage others to join and answer as many posts from newbies as we can. With respect this forum has declined and rapidly in the last 6 months, as Carol says the board would have at least 10 pages of new posts every day & by the time you had answered a thread, it was on page 2!. What I meant was that after being on the forum for 5yrs I have seenhow it has changed, and want it to be a busy forum again. Other forums are still as busy as they once were, and I don't think OT'ers leaving has anything to do with it, the old Brides used to stay around & give advice & many non Brides too.

Sorry for any offence caused but I was just trying to put a point across, obviously not very well. ?

Thats OK Sherrie, I knew you werent intentionally trying to offend anyone. I came here just as quite a few of the regulars left and there are still times when the walls are quite but other times it does really seem to pick up. But the newbies and me, to a great extent, only know it as being like this, and we love it. We dont know how it used to be so dont have anything to compare it too and enjoy being here, so its a little upsetting when people say its just not the same anymore.

But I understand what you mean and it would be lovely to see the pages moving like you say they used too, When I joined there werent any other newbies around, and now we get a couple a week so I think it is getting busier.

    xx

    Awwww....nona...nooooooooo

it is difficult mustering up the oos and aaahs when you're an OM. mind you , its been over a year for me and i've popped back on today cos just got back from looking at wedding dresses with my sis...she's just got engaged!!!

i think we need an OM page where we can catch up, say hi and reminisce (sp)

i've been over on BT but got obsessed with ttc so have had to go cold turkey on the forum...not sure an OM forum is the way to go then :-)

Good luck Nona & Mr Tee hee...all the best for a long & happy forever. 'twas good getting to know ya xxx
