Think this could be my dress!!

diamondsragirlsbestfriend!, 5 August, 2008 at 12:29 Posted on Planning 0 28

Went for first dress shopping expedition on Sat and this was the second dress I tried on, only thing is that its a lttle bit over budget. Think I can justify it now that I have found a place that does much cheaper shoes than expected and I don't need to buy any fancy bra/corset thing that I had visions of doing (woman in shop said no bra underneath). You can't see it in picture but it has a beautiful long train that attaches and has diamantes all round the outer edge to match the diamantes round the hips. Hope the link works. https://www.essensedesigns.com/files/onepiecefiles/D827.html

Am going back in a few weeks to try on one other which they didn't have in stock and was originally the one I thought I would like (see below) but I think it will probably be the first one!

What do you think?

If i could have that models figure, i would def go for the first one, i love that on the hip design!!

on the second dress, i also love the beaded ribbon, but its quite a different style.

    i say no.1!!

Hi Bluewater - wedding is 30th May next year. Need it ready by April so I can bring it back to UK with me, so shop reckon I will need to order in Nov time. Had to pay to try on up to 5 dresses ? but will get that knocked off the price if I order it. It all of a sudden feels very real now that I have tried on dresses .... if that makes sense.

Yeh I thought that when I started trying on dresses, before that it is all making plans but trying on the dress helps you actually imagine the wedding day!

I think I prefer the second one too, that little jacket is sooo cute!

But it is whatever you feel most comfortable in

If i had the figure to wear something like that i'd go for the 2nd one, it's lovely. But i'd wear it without the little jacket.

I'm living in New Zealand and thats pretty much the norm here. There are a few places where you don't have to pay but that is the minority. Some places will let you try on as many as you want and others limit it, prices are the equivalent of about £20-£30 to try on.

Thanks for opinions so far. I was surprised at how nice the first one looked on as I really didn't think it was really me but just goes to show you have to have an open mind. Will still try on the second one when it comes in though - was drawn to it by shape, the belt and the jacket.

I think they are both pretty but the 1st one is a bit more different.

Without the jacket the 2nd one could look a lot like many other dresses.

Wow - I love these dresses, I think both are gorgeous. But i have to say the 1st one is my choice, I love the crystal waist line, really unusual & I think it is very elegant.

I like them both, but like the shape of the skirt on the 2nd one, but that might just be the pic. Like the sound of the train on the first one - sounds similar t te detail on my train which matches the detail on my bodice.

Ohhh...good choices! I love the first dress as it's so unusual but really stylish. Second is lovely too...hard decision. If I could carry of the first one I would probably go for that...unfortunately my darn hips are too big for that style. Great dresses!!

Dont know how much the essence one is but eddyk do one almost identical for about £700 its a bit sparklier round the hip but its nearly the same dress maybe worth looking at other ranges to compare the pricing if the essence is looads more than the eddyk one
