This sort of thing makes me very cross

Her family ought to be ashamed of themselves. I dread to think how much money it's cost to keep her alive and yet so so flagrantly disregarded the attempts to help her. If she were alive, I'd be first in the queue to give her a slap and make her eat vegetables.

Ok, you can flame me for going the other way ..

I actually feel very sorry for her, I think she must have had issues with food to get to the size that she was.

Though I agree with you on the outrage at the family, how disgusting that they took all that fried food to her.

I understand it from the issues perspective twf. Well, sympathise rather than understand. What makes me most cross other than her dreadful, dreadful family, is that she says nothing has been done to help her.

Oo I had misread that bit and had just seen what treatment she had received and totally missed the "no help part"

    So sad, her poor children

Now, I wasn't going to get involved in this but I must disagree with the 'no help' part.

"The mother-of-four, who was just 5ft tall, had received 24-hour care since 2005 - including a three-month stint in the exclusive £5,000-a-month Priory Clinic paid for by the NHS. "

    and

"She is also believed to have undergone a £30,000 gastric by-pass operation earlier this year."

But, I would like to point out that only those close to her knew the full extent of what went on behind closed doors so that is as far as I will comment on this!

I'll probably get splinters in my bum from fence sitting now! ?

Absolutely what maryline said. How small minded and ignorant to believe someone is obese just because they eat crap. I am yet to meet an obese person who doesn't have masses of underlying issues which link in to their eating. How can someone who is anorexic or bulimic be supported because it is an illness yet someone who has the same unhealthy relationship with food and same body image issue not get support just because they are fat? Have you ever actual been overweight and tried to lose weight? I know myself how bloody hard it is.

No, I'm not upset. I feel sorry for people like the OP and those like Trickers who agree with her who are so blatantly thick and lacking in empathy. At the end of the day, although it's blooming hard, it's easier to lose weight than it is to grow brain cells and a sense of compassion.

Loving the "slap her and feed her vegetables" treatment. But of course! Why didn't anyone else think of that.

FWIW, I eat bucketloads of vegetables. I love vegetables. I'm still fat. Eating vegetables isn't on its own going to make you lose weight. Just so you know.

Who asked you to apologise? That would infer I gave a damn about the opinion of a narrow minded, thick as pig sh1t bigot. And pmsl at the "judgmental" comment. Where is the irony meter repairman when you need him?
