Those of you going to weddings this year - what outfit?

*Pipster*, 27 July, 2008 at 09:11 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 30

Those of you that have weddings to attend this summer, I'm feeling nosey this morning, so just wondered who would like to share what you're wearing (either describe or pics)?

I've got 2 to go to, and have 2 outfits (but not sure which I'll wear to either/both) - first is a black & white floral dress with a bat wingy type cardi/shrug thing, black shoes and accessories. Second is an emerald green dress with little grey/white/black spots with green cardi/bolero (haven't got accessories yet, but thinking grey colours). I'm hoping to wear the second dress to both weddings if I have the confidence (I'm worried the colour is too striking/bright, although it does really suit me) and the black is my staple back-up dress!

I'm going to 2 weddings this year and I can wear the same outfit to both as no-one knows anyone at the other!

I'm going to be wearing this dress with some cream and silver detail shoes. Not sure what necklace or earrings yet:

The photo isn't great as it's just on the hanger, it looks loads better on!

I like that, and like the sound of the shoes. I'm the same - totally different guests at both weddings, but I'm just not sure if I'll wear my dress I've worn before or be daring and wear my new dress in a brighter colour to both!

I have a wedding to go to in 2 weeks and still have nothing to wear! A friend has a pair of white trousers she said I can use if they fit me so we'll see. Don't think I'd be able to find a dress to fit me!

Aw, I'm sure you'll find something lovely. What size/shape are you? If you're same as me I'll lend you my black & white dress to force me into being bold and wearing the other one!

I'm wearing this, but as I'm a fattie with hugh bingo wings it will be accompanied by an emerald green shrug (there is green in the dress, honest) and gold accessories as i bought a fab pair of gold sandles ages ago and have never worn.

There are loads of beautiful dresses at the moment, is some wonderful colours. I would say go with the green one it sounds great

BONONE I too have bingo wings, hence the cardi/bolero with my dresses!

I wore a per una dress (white base with flowers on in cerise and turquoise amongst others) to both of the weddings we had an invite to. Only one other guest was at both that saw us and as she barely spoke to us at either I don't think it really mattered.

Same in style (just different pattern) as item no **** on fleabay.

Edited to add that I wore it with turquoise hair clips, beige chiffon wrap and beige shoes.

I've already been to one in April and wore a strapless 50's style dress from Warehouse in black with caramel print design and black ribbon tie. Wore with black suit jacket, black patent peeptoe heels from Russell & Bromley and black bag from Next. Am planning on wearing the same for another wedding in October in Scotland - hope it's warm enough!

been to one so far, got 2 to go. 1st - red white and black linen skirt from autograph at m&s, red cardi, black patent shoes and handbag, black hat thing (full size but stuck on a headband at a rakish angle, rather jolly)

second one - peacock blue slub silk shift dress and jacket from jigsaw, same accessories

third one - november, so depending on my size and weather, either as 2nd or vivienne westwood tweedy suit with purple velvet collar. but i'd have to lose a stone or so between now and then to fit in it. and it's a few years old so my mum will have to inspect and tell me if i'm out of season - or should that be fashion? i suppose i could be out of season like asparagus or something ?

I have my SIL wedding at the end of Sep.

    Have ordered this dress https://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10001_60891_543876_-1

It has turqoise running through it too which you cant see on the picture.

But the stock is low so may not get it. My own fault as i was waiting to get it in the sale, plus thought if i bought it 2/3 months before I would prob see something else in the meantime !

    DD xx

I wore this Karen Millen number to a wedding last week, with ivory peep toe shoes and clutch bag

I'm wearing this dress from Debenhams in two weeks time (with same ivory shoes as bag as they're a perfect match)

Hmm not sure if pic is working so link here https://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10001_61856_655720_-1

I've got a wedding to go to August Bank Holiday weekend, but haven't started looking yet. I'm hoping for something - v-necked and with a bit of a sleeve so I don't have to worry about a cardigan / wrap / whatever.

I'm being a cheapskate this year. I was a bridesmaid at the end of June (strapless brown tea length dress with an ivory sash - this dress https://www.jimhjelmoccasions.com/dress_db_occ/display_dress.php?imageno=5757). I have already worn it to one occasion so far and have two more to go. The only people who were at all 4 occasions were MrW and my parents so I'm ok wearing it to them all.

I have a ivory lace shrug, ivory sandals with sparkly bits and diamante slides for my hair.

I am attending my fifth wedding of the season on Friday (aargh!) but I'm a bridesmaid so luckily have my outfit sorted. For the first wedding I wore this dress https://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10001_18657_623151_-1 with a pale cream Coast shrug and gold sandals.

For the others I wore a green dress from bravissimo with pink and blue in it, with cerise pink fascinator, pashmina and these http://www.dune.co.uk/catalogue/style.asp?r=43&g=48&y=A08LSA53OCS173H shoes, which I am in love with.

? pipster. are you on FB? if you add me i can show you a pic of me at the first wedding of the season which was in spain last month. short bubble hem skirt, billowy top, chunky bangles and glam flat shoes.

second is my bro's, and bridezilla my lovely SIL2B has requested that the family wear blue or silver. i think i will wear a grey dress with silver detailing i picked up in the harvey nicks sales a few years ago and hope this suffices ?. with silver heels, clutch and jewellery to make it more 'silvery' ?

the third is an english county type affair and i shall be wearing a fifties style full skirt (cream with big flowers on, from jigsaw about 5 years ago - as you can see i'm all about recycling clothes i already have this summer ?), with black top and cardigan (it's in oct) and black satin peep toe heels. i think there's a photo of me in this on FB too as i wore the skirt to about three weddings the year i bought it ?

hope you and T are well ?
