Those who are not making their invitations......

charliebird7, 5 March, 2011 at 19:11 Posted on Planning 0 20

Can I ask where you have bought them from please? We have decided against making our invites now as we are both so rubbish at anything like that! ? Ideally i'm after something that's pocketfold. x

I had mine made by a lady who runs a lovely gift shop and makes cards and other personalised items. Happy to pass on her details but she's in Inverness so possibly not the handiest!

I am having mine made by our very own HIB Natalie at Inspire Me Designs - she's been absolutely wonderful - she can do absolutely anything - she makes wonderful, professional pocket-folds and she's the most reasonably priced, best customer service stationer I've encountered in my search! Here's a flash of a sample (she made this up to show me how the final invitation would look like so ignore the stuck-on wording, that will be embossed:

Sorry, not pocketfold but I went with Vistaprint. I'm really pleased with mine and each invite plus RSVP card came in at around 80p.

I really wanted pocket folds, and found the biggest range at PDA card & craft in nottingham. I just bought online, but Peter Stock (the printing man) was friendly & able to recommend colours/cards based on my colour theme. They seemed to have every style of pocketfold available and in hundreds of colours, cards, patterns etc. The prices were also the best I'd found.

We got a textured card for the pocketfold and matching textured envelopes. He can do the printing, or leave them all blank if you are printing at home. I did add a ribbon and diamonte heart to the outside, added a small velcro dot & also used a card punch to make the edges of the inserts more interesting. Also, I had to glue the pocket folds closed, but that was easy really.

We were the same, wanted to do them ourselves but then when I looked into it realised I didn't have the time or patience to get the end result I wanted.

We have now ordered ours from Suzanne at Prettywild http://www.prettywild.co.uk/ who is a HIB on here. She has been so patient with a thousand and one questions and for pics. We got some gorgeous samples from her which helped to choose which invite to go for. We have now had our text proofs and mock up (only a week after ordering) and it looks fab. Getting those was my most emotional moment so far - seeing an invite with our names/dates etc. Made it feel so real!

I got mine from www.inviteyoutothedo.com as well. Couldn't recommend more, they were so helpful, the invitations came out beautifully and they were cheaper than anywhere else I could find.
