Those who got married this year (follow on from Raef's post)

How organised are you in name changing?

I am finding the whole process tedious, and therefore I've hardly bothered doing anything and have only done the easy ones!

The first name change was Facebook, obviously!! I have changed my name at the bank and got my new cards and chequebook. I have also changed my name on websites I order from such as Amazon, Debenhams and Play.com. I also got myself a new email. I have changed my name at the dentist and doctors. Also have done my car insurance. But anything where I have needed to send the wedding certificate away for, I haven't bothered with yet.

I have all the passport forms filled out ready to send off, and I must do it this week as I have booked flights for our winter hols in my married name. Still need to do driving licence, mobile phone contract, credit cards, paypal, ebay.

Anyone else who loves being married, loves her new name, but really can't be bothered with all the paperwork?

I cheated with some of mine!

I got a new phone contract (moved to Tesco) so didn't need to change that.

I also gave up with paypal and opened a new one!

There were no good email addresses and I couldn't be bothered to change my email everywhere so just changed my name on the outgoing bit.

Banks are mainly done. Just our joint account which they are refusing to change, even though the same bank have changed my own current account and have a copy of the marriage certificate... Grr!!

Passport was done before the wedding as it expired a couple of months after and didn't have enough left on it to travel.

Driving licence is finally going today! Just bought a new car so that was easy! Insurance I changed near enough straight away.

I'm an accountant so HMRC was done fairly quickly!

Dentist done, Doctors still needs to be done. Then everything else; utility bills, council etc. Just so many places to change!

I am awful, I haven't changed anything yet. But in part this is due to the fact that I am not changing my name at work so need to figure out which bank accounts to chaange and which to keep the same.

I need a new passport so must get that done and I must do my driving licience as i need to change the address as well on that!

Hmmm wish I was more organised

I've changed my name with work, bank, driving license and car ownership, facebook and email (new one). I still need to do credit card, mortgage lender, doctors, various websites I shop from, car insurance (they want £50 to change it...) and other insurance companies. It is a tedious process but one I will eventually get done.

I'm not going to bother changing with Paypal - I'll probably just create a new one.

What crafty em said, except i got married aug 09 - have changed bank stuff cos i had my marriage certificate on me, and name at work, but not much else... anything that requires a copy of my marriage certificate (i.e. doing anything other than just telling someone) hasn't happened.

It was my 6 month anniversary yesterday ! And so far I have changed hardly anything !

    Passport

    Facebook

    Doctor

    Dentist

Vet's (for the animals surname !!)

My horse racing syndicate membership and that's it !

I must change my bank accounts, but I want to keep one in my maiden name.

It's just so tedious and when I think of all the other things I need to do my brain goes into shutdown mode !

First thing to change was facebook of course! done one of my banks, driving licence and car insurance no probs with them. i'm refusing to do my passport coz they want over £70 for it (ridiculous!) bloody pay pal have been a pain in the arse over chenging the details, they wanted marriage cert and photo ID before they'd change it (goodness knows why they needed photo ID! not like they know what i look like anyway.

i haven't done docs or dentist, need 3 different work ID cards changing but also to do tha need new photos so haven't bothered yet. If it requires money or anything extra i've been putting it off.
