Thoughts on a business idea.....

Doodle, 25 February, 2011 at 09:21 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 3

Hi guys

I wondered if you could give me some very initial feedback on an idea I’ve had.

I have a pretty good (read: occasionally obsessive) head for money; when me and oh got our first house I created an accountancy spreadsheet to help us budget. Over the last 7 years it has somewhat grown into a fully fledged package with graphs and forward planning.

I have always wanted to ‘help’ others and had a bit of a brainwave that properly packaged my services and software may be something people would be interested in using in this time of economic uncertainty.

Obviously my thinking is very initial but if, in principle, my services could improve your budgeting and give you a long term tool to save money and plan for the future – would you be interested?

Thanks!

Doodle (sit’s back and waits to be told it’s a crap idea lol)

You can only but try, start off small and all that,

But then i know nothing about business kinda things

Good luck if you do decide to go through with it x

Should speak to some at bgateway.com they good with starting up new businesses giving advise on how you go about it etc, personally i think it could be a good idea tho i think the type of people who may need help with a budget might not have the funds to pay someone to help them IYSWIM?

Certainly not a crap idea lol, probably depends what market you are looking at.

I am a Financial Planner by profession (zzzz) and we offer cashflow planning as part of our services, but tend to be aimed at richer clients as we cost a fortune lol and go into ridiculous amounts of detail! If you were offering something for maybe younger people on a budget that might work?
