Throwing the bouquet....don't think I've got the heart to do it!

lilacpearl, 4 August, 2014 at 08:35 Posted on Planning 0 15

Morning Hitchers,

I'm just paying for the final bits and bobs, with the florist being one of them. I'm so excited about my bouquet, so much so I don't want to throw it! So I'll be getting a mock bridal bouquet made up.

Has anyone else considered doing this, or gas done this?

I am not lobbing my bouquet, and personally I wouldn't waste the money on a pretend one 'just to throw it'! Yeah I am not keen on that tradition...

I have never actually been to a wedding where the bride has thrown her bouquet. At my first wedding I gave it to my Gran but she passed away last year so I'm undecided what to do with this one.

I'm going to get my bouquet preserved and put into a 3D frame. My friend got hers done and it's so lovely to look at. Maybe that could be an option for you, Lottie2409?

That's a lovely idea. I've just had a quick google though and the prices I found start at £300!! If I can find it cheaper then I'll definitely do it

I'll keep an eye out too, and will let you know if I find anything cheaper.

    I'm having a mock one!

All my flowers are silk/foam but my bouquet it's going elsewhere but all the ladies still want me to frow one so I'm paying £3 from the range for a plane cream/white bouquet that will do the job! I'm going to jazz it up a bit!

I have only ever seen it done once and the bride had a smaller seperate one made for the throw. Just think of it as just a bit fun, its a laugh for a few mins, so dont throw yours and dont spend a fortune on a seperate one. Why cant you make your own to throw that looks like your proper one, it dosent have to be perfect and it dosent have to last all day.

Heres the shot of that one and only throw I have seen.

Brilliant shot Bill! I hope my pic comes out as well as that!

im doing as you gave suggested. I'm paying for the 'mock' one - a friend if my MIL is doing it for me. As you say, it's just a bit of fun!

I have been thinking a lot about this. I do not want to throw mine, but definitely need to throw a bouquet! So I will ask my auntie to make up a little mock up bouquet to throw Smiley smile

I looked at preserving my bouquet in a 3D frame but its too expensive. Im going to see if I can find a cheaper option, of having the petals freeze dried and then arranged into a heart shape inside a 3D frame? Hopefully this will be less than £300 plus!!

A mock bouquet, this is a great idea! It would be awful to see an expensive bouquet trashed with everyone scrambling to catch it!
