To fake tan or not to fake tan...that is the question.

AussieAngelxxx, 13 September, 2008 at 23:07 Posted on Planning 0 12

Has anyone or is anyone going for a spray tan before the wedding....I do not want to look orange but then I do not want to look like a lilly in my dress lol

Curious to know what others are doing....

Mmm good question. I'm not really sure what I'm going to do. If I get something done it would have to be a professional job as I cannot do fake tanning myself (my one and only expereince many many years ago came out very streaky and has put me off for life!). To be honest I don't think I will bother but will see nearer the time. Only thing I am a bit concerned about is that we are going to Greece for a week before the wedding and worried about tan lines!!

Do yu normally do fake tanning?

Never had to really worry....as an Aussie as soon as I stepped ot of my door I was brown...used to go the colour of a nut (always wore suncream every day tho as want to protect my skin). I wouldn't do it myself...I would go to a pro but still there is the risk of the orange effect....or maybe would look orange in pics!! eek!!!!

Could do a test run.....or maybe this could be the one and only time I could do a sun bed *cringe at thought*

    Hi,

I'm not promoting the use of unsafe tanning but a word of warning - my photographer warned against a spray tan for the wedding as she said it doesn't look good on photos. This is her opinion, maybe others have had spray tans and it's looked fine on their photos but I'm not taking the chance!

If it were me, I'd be worried about the fake tan staining the dress should I get hot and sweaty.

I had a spray tan trial a couple of weeks back-it turned out really well so I`ll be having one on the thursday before the wedding (which is on the saturday). A lot of it stained my clothes on the first night I had it, then a lot of the residue comes off in the shower the following day. I`m hoping that it wont stain the dress too much, but I really think my dress will get ruined anyway, as I`m really clums, esp after a few drinks ☹️

it was really nice and even, and I hadnt exfoliated or anything, deffo give it a try

I've tried most of the spray tans and never been impressed by them, either ended up looking dirty or orange.

I had never tried St Tropez spray so thought I would give it a go before the wedding.

I had it done last Thursday ready for my hen night on Friday and I have to say it is the best one I have ever had. It doesn't look orange and don't feel or look dirty.

It has just given me nice glow which is what I wanted being as I am quite pale usually.

I would thoroughly recommend it although I do understand that some things are right for some people and not for others but its a big thumbs up to St Tropez from me and my daughter who also had it done the same time.

Our was done at a salon, not done by ourselves btw.

Im not having a fake tan. I dont suit them as Im very pale and have black/brown/grey hair?

If I was going to get one done id have to go to a salon and have a St Tropez or the like, my friend did suggest this the other day to as she said it last for a while and looks really natural. But I want h2b to look and recognise me not think who is that short tanned girl with black/brown/grey hair ?. I will however be dying my hair?

    Good luck

Just wanted to add my rec for ST TROPEZ also.....have tried them all from expensive to not so expensive.

I use the cream which looks very dark when applied...like mud.......but you just rub it in well. It doesn't come off patchy when you exfoliate afterwards and you can layer it night after night to get the right shade.......LOVE IT❤️

I had a st tropez spray before mine. It was fine and only stained my dress very very slightly inside undeer the arm. I don't think I looked orange. Be careful about what you use shower gel wise when showering afterwards though as apparently some can make it turn a funny shade - I was recommended to use water only for washing with.

There are photos of me about somewhere if you want to see!
