To have a hoop or not?!

Mrs W-at-last!, 27 August, 2013 at 00:54 Posted on Planning 0 5

Hi all, bit of a dilemma,

My wedding dress is the beautiful Sophia Tolli Anne design. It's an A line dress made of chiffon, designed to be quite figure hugging. But the other day I had a thought - should I have a hoop? The shop did not suggest I have one with the dress, and I do think it would change the shape of it it, but I'm having nightmares about walking in it and it bunching around my legs. Thought anyone? Thanks Smiley smile

Beware that some hoops can flash more than you might like when getting out of cars.

I've just googled it and I wouldn't wear one. My dress falls in a similar way and I'm not wearing one. I think it's designed to fall softly and be quite flowy x

To add a bit of controversy I'm having a net underskirt and not a hoop, it helps with the skirt bunching and just falls a little better.

I'm having a hoop - I wasnt that keen on it before but my dress has ruffles and does look like its needs to be 'shaped'.The big difference for me is that it makes it nice and 'airy' under all the layers and means if I get sweaty I wont have my dress stuck to my leg. Plus I can always take it off if change my mind. I've taken the approach to most things as - I'd rather have it and not need it, than not have it and really need it. I'll probably sell it on ebay afterwards so hopefully won't be a waste of money.
