To veil or not to veil that is the question

BlushingBride2012, 19 January, 2011 at 20:04 Posted on Planning 0 6

Hi,

Im wondering about veils. Now my dress is stunning, every brides dress is, its a one off so unique and not overly jewelled, but enough that it sparkles. Now my make up is going to be quite "english rose" and i would like my hair, curled and loose but up. Now my fiance is not a fan of veils and has made that plainly clear and to be honest i would love an extravagent hair piece (nothing huge, just utterly lush!!) but should i also have a veil or should i just stick to a headpiece.

Many thanks, any images of great headpieces or website links would be great xx

Firstly can we have a flash of the dress ?? ?

Veil wise, i think it's entirely up to you, which would you feel more

    comfortable in??

I never wanted a veil, my OH isn't keen on them but my mum wants me to have one (if only to detract from my tattoo ? lol). However when I tried one on, I really liked it and it set off my dress beautifully.

My advice would be to try one on with your dress and see what you think!

Dont have a picture of my dress sorry, its a one off so there arent any pictures, going to get one of me in it on 29th so will post one then. But its strapless and big at the bottom with loads of scattered beading.

I tried on a veil and did like it but i dont want my other half to see me and say "oh god shes got one of those on her head" lol, even though i know he is too sweet to ever say anything like that to my face. But i do like to be different which is why i like headpieces xx

I wont be wearing a veil, personally I've always seen them as something for a religious occasion and seeing as we are neither and not getting married in a church I dont see the point.

I was never a fan of veils, but after having a bridal store assistant shove one in my hair I actually suddenly felt like a bride as opposed to just a girl in a big white dress. So I am definitely now pro veil. Even planning on wearing the blusher over my face!

If you're not sure about a full on veil, have you thought about a birdcage veil? You could get a nice statement side tiara to attach it to, then remove the netting after the ceremony.

I tried on a shoulder length veil and i loved it. Suppose i could have both, veil for ceremony and headpiece for pictures afterwards hehe!

Ive had to take on a 2nd job (aka selling ann summers hehe) to help pay for wedding, but i love being ann summers party so i get a great job and a great wedding hehex
