TOG LIST!!!

Gemma&Chantelle, 11 June, 2012 at 21:57 Posted on Planning 0 10

Help!!! Trying to do a tog list and could do with some etiquette advice. It's a civil ceremony (2 brides) both of us really do not enjoy having our picture taken. Do we really have to be in every picture? Also is it rude to say just want our pictures with the wedding party and M/FILs?

Any advice welcome

You will be in many many pictures......by the sound of it a relaxed coverage with minimal formal shots would sort you best.....That way you are less aware of the photography....

I had the amazing Daffodil Waves and told her exactly what I wanted, basically nothing and I meant nothing posed. I hate them. I hate the look of them (I fully appreciate that others love them) and I hate standing for them. She was amazing. Our photos are amazing and no one had to stand around. So look round for someone who does quite informal photos and just tell them what you want and what you don't want.

    Hi

Your day your way!.......although a good Tog should be able to make photo taking more enjoyable....plus if you go for mainly reportage style shots you don't have to pose for any formal shots if you don't want to....if you don't enjoy having your photo taken because you do not like the way you look in photos a good TOG should be more in tune with flattering angles and lighting.

I would say that most people want a whole list of photos. They are prob just trying to get a list of what you want. I would phone them and speak to them. You are after all paying them for the service you want. Have you check their website and the different weddings they have done before?

You may be ok...just talk to your tog.....some togs have a very endearing attitude that makes even formal shots easy for uneasy couples....its part of the technique.

One technique I use is to create "environments". Thats where you loosely put a shot together to ensure that the core people are in the shot and then allow that environment to relax and ignore the photographer......it is amazing what natural shots can come from this technique, whilst still ensuring that the people you want are in them......
