Stay calm. Wait until you've seen him, and his portfolio, before you take a judgement on it - it might just be your worry overwhelming you.

But if you don't like what you see on Tuesday, don't be afraid to change your mind either. The photographs will be your lasting memory of the day and so you need to be happy with them.

First of all don't worry. You won't be the first and you won't be the last to change your mind. But don't rush into a rash decision.

How much of a deposit have you made? Did you look at his albums at the wedding fayre? What is it exactly you don't like now? Can you be specific? Sometimes a photographer's website isn't the best or maybe they've just chosen a bad set of photos.

You can always ask him to bring a couple of albums when you meet on Tuesday, something recent and see how you feel after the meeting.

If you still feel the same way after the meeting then it's probably better to find a photographer that does blow your socks off and make sure they are available before you cancel.

Fortunately you've still got some time and it's better you find out now than 2 weeks after your wedding!

I can't put my finger on it but they all look quite 'safe' - nothing dramatic. Deposit was £250, but feel that it's worth losing if I'm not happy on Tuesday. We're going to his studio so hopefully should be reassured..

I agree with cymruangel, You might be panicking over nothing, just meet him and look over his latest work, not all of us update our sites all the time, we just don't have the time?

I found it helpful to ask to see weddings specifically at my venue. it showed me what our pictures could look like, and it reassured me that the photographer was familiar with that particular space.

i found looking at spectacular pictures of other venues, confused me about photographers AND made me doubt my venue, so i tried to stick to seeing my own as it was doubly reassuring. i could be more objective and critical of the photography, because i'd already seen the space in real life. just really helped me personally.

March / April should be easy to find someone really good. It's May thru to September when it's hard to pin someone down.

I've had 4 enquiries for August 15th 2015 in the last three weeks. March / April is very quiet relative to that.

Don't panic! Like the others say, wait til you've met up with him and take it from there. Wedding fairs are so overwhelming with information.

Although, I would certainly pay attention to your feelings when it comes to making a final decision about your tog and his work. I firmly believe that you need to connect with the images on an emotional level. One of my clients was in the same position and admitted she hadn't really researched properly. When it came to looking at his work again, she couldn't find any love in the work...she cancelled him in the end.

You've gotta be sure on this! Go with your gut!
