TOG recommendations in Hampshire/Dorset?

Carpe Diem, 12 February, 2013 at 13:22 Posted on Planning 0 15

Hello!

We are renewing our vows on our 10 year wedding anniversary in 2015 and currently trying to find a TOG. We are in the Hampshire/Dorset area but really can't afford the prices of a lot of them. I know how important a good photographer is as I was so disappointed with our wedding photos and don't have any on display because of this. I am a very keen photographer myself and wish I could just do it myself!! I don't want traditional, something a bit different and not after someone for the whole day, just a couple of hours. Also a cd is fine no need for albums etc. our venue is so beautiful I really want someone who can do it justice but am really worried our budget is going to stop this, can't really spend more than £500 but could maybe stretch a bit more. Am I being totally unrealistic?? Xx

    Hi Kelly

Thought I would bump this for you in case someone can help. I'm quite a bit over your budget otherwise I would offer my services. You are not being unrealistic.

    What venue have you chosen?

Get in touch with Glen of Geln Jevon photogrpahy. Based in Hythe, New Forest, but travels. Not sure of his non wedding prices, but I'm booking him for my day and just love his style. Tell him Kim Cotton sent you and his Mrs will know who I am ?. Don't knw if it will help, but might get you a few quid off lol

Thank you will have a look at the reccomendation.

Marianne I did email you but you said you weren't taking bookings for 2015 yet.

This is our venue....it's a 17th century house and is so beautiful with the most intricate carved ceilings and fireplaces s, want to do it justice ;-)

I'm over budget and I normally only ever do full days, however depending on the date I may possibly be able to offer partial coverage to reduce my pricing a little.

Website is in sig, let me know if my style is to your taste.

That is gorgeous. Are the grounds nice too? Bet they are! ?

I will have a think about who I know at that price. Would you rule out someone starting out?

I don't mind having a chat if you like my work but just wanted to be honest with you about my prices first x

Looks lovely, tbh if I was in your position right now, I'd start looking around the house for any unused or unimportant items to ebay so I could afford a photographer I really wanted.

Considering you don't have any pictures on display from your actual wedding, I wouldn't make that mistake again.

Thanks Rhys will have a look!

I don't mind someone starting out but don't want traditional photos, I like something a bit different and artistic, I'm probably asking to much. That's the problem when you love photography so much! I will be taking my camera and taking some shots myself too!

Heres some more photos of the inside although they really don't do it justice.

The trouble with a £500 budget is most at that price will be just starting out.

By 2015 they'll be charging a lot more. I wouldn't worry about a tog until a year before tbh.

That way you'll have more chance of finding someone to suit your funding.

Thank you Chris for the advice I think I will wait a while then or find a way of increasing my budget as it is an important part of the day to me and I think I am not going to find what I'm looking for on such a small budget! :-)
