All of them are good, suppose it depends how close you are to your best man and bridesmaids partners cos I don't think they are usually included although I may be wrong.

Why are they refusing to sit on top table?

It would seem weird to me if I went to a wedding and the bride's parents were on the top table but the groom's weren't - understand you can't help it if they're being awkward but what about a sweetheart table where it's just you and your H?

Otherwise I really don't think it matters who you have on your top table, as long as you're happy with them being there.

My IL's are divorced and both have new partners. We said from day one we won't have a head table, instead we are moving to a different table for each course, so one with h2b's mum, one with his dad and one with my parents. The reasons for us doing this are that we get to speak to more people this way and we always think B&G's look like they'd have more fun on a round table. A secondary advantage is it does help solve that problem too, although we'd still have no top table if they were still married. Could something like that could be an option for you?

Will there not be any parents of the grrom at the top table? sometimes it works well to put FOG next to MOB etc, that way they are further apart from their exes if they are sperated!!!

Dont really have any advise other than to talk to them, not that that worked for me....my mother isnt allowed to sit on my top table as her husband wants to sit on a different table and he wants her next to him!! GGGGRRRR bloody families!!!

We are going to sit on a normal round table (I hate top tables with people watching me eating etc!) which we will sit at with bridesmaids, best man, an usher etc. His parents will host a table of their own as will my mum / her partner & my dad & step-mum.

What a nightmare! Don't know what to suggest really, I agree that it seems odd to have both your parents and neither of your H2Bs on the top table, but also agree that it's not your parents problem so why should they not be a part of the top talble. Hope you get something sorted!
