Top Table Tantrum- Help Needed!!!!

Zocco, 2 March, 2012 at 14:35 Posted on Usage Tips 0

Hi All

Really need some bridal help and advice. The plans for the wedding so far have gone really well until the dreaded words "top table" were mentioned!

My H2B has been really interested but laid back about all the plans but has stomped his foot down over the top table plans.

Like many I'm sure I have divorced parents who have both got re-married therefore besides us, the top table is up to 8 people.

We have a best man and 2 bridesmaids but as they are both my best friends, I haven't and wont choose 1 as the Chief.

My H2B thinks that his sister should be on the top table with her other half (whom neither of us like I might add!) over my bridesmaids. Personally I think this is wrong as I think they have more 'right' to be there than his sister who isn't part of the wedding party. He has a very small family which is why he wants her there but I also have four brother who are all married!. My mum has already said that if he has his sister and his partner then I should have my brothers and theirs- it's up to 20+ people!

Please help me! I'm caught between my H2B and my mum- rock and a hard place doean't cover it!

Well there are a couple of things you could do. Ether have just the two of you on the top table ( even though quite small ) or you could have yourselves and bridesmaids and groomsmen aswell. This way you can avoid conflict from any family members as none of them apart from bridesmainds groomsmen and the bridal couple would be on the table
