Top Tips/Words of Wisdom?

emmamac73, 3 July, 2010 at 19:47 Posted on Planning 0 3

So Ladies....I've posted something similar on the newlyweds board....

I want some top tips/pearls of wisdom?

For those already married....Is there anything you would have done differently?Or anything you are really glad you did? Splashed out on? Or saved on? What REALLY matters on the day?

Or anything that was a waste of money?!!!

:-)

Well..... The best tip I have had... Take any socks / bra's off a few hours before you get ready on the day to avoid strap marks!

I know it's easier said than done but honestly don't stress over the little things. I'm not saying don't pay attention to them but if something is causing you stress and it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things then let it go. For example my parents wanted people at the reception from work and I didn't as I didn't know them but they were invited and I said a quick hello and then didn't see them again. Wasn't worth arguements in any way shape or form.

Enjoy the day. If something goes a tiny bit wrong or doesn't quite run on time who cares no one will notice and the chances are you won't either.

Don't stress about the weather, you can't change it so why get into a bother about it. Buy an umbrella and make the most of some unusual pictures under it. I think pictures in the rain are very romantic!

Write a list of what you want done for the venue and give it to them the night before.

Take 5 mins out with your new hubby every now and then to reflect on the day as it goes sooooo quick.

I'll add as I think of more x
