My dad suffers from Myelofibrosis which is a blood disease, he didn't sound well when i spoke to him on Sunday (he had a fall and broke 2 ribs about 3 weeks ago) and had a couple of pints of fresh blood yesterday so I'm really worried why he's back in already, he usually gets a bit of a fever for a few days then he's good as new (well ish)

    I feel so useless

Oh aecy - I'm sorry to hear this - I'll keep my fingers crossed you get some news soon, it must be awful sat there waiting Smiley sad

maybe the recent cold weather has hindered his recovery and all will be good as new like normally, but just a bit more slowly than previously?

    please don't think the worst!

Sending positive thoughts for you and your dad... I can 100% empathise with having a parent being unwell and worrying from many miles away.

    Here's a {{{HUG}}} for you...

Take care Aecy - I have an ill dad (emphysema) and also live miles away from him. I know that helpless feeling very well and it is totally crap. Will work let you have a compassionate day so you can try and get to see him. If you got to go down you'd probably feel better.

In the meantime have a hug and some positive thoughts xx

Aww, acey you poor thing - have a hug ?

I know how awful it is having an ill parent when you live so far away, it does make you feel so helpless. Any chance you could get time off to see him? You're right, he is in the right place - I'm sure they'll look after him. Hope the tests go okay, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you that he gets better real soon x

Don't over-worry - if you havent heard from your Mumthen it means there's no urgent bad news. You know that if something had happened then she would have phoned you. Don't worry, I'm sure he'll be fine x

Aww, acey, fingers crossed for you that it's good news. Try not to worry too much about your dream, it's probably just because it's been on your mind that even while you're asleep your sub-conscious mind has been replaying the worries you've had all day. And as Laura said, if you haven't heard from your mum, then this is probably a good sign - the old cliche, no news is good news. Hope he's okay, let us know when you here from your mum x

Well had the call, he's probably had a couple of heart attacks but their still not 100% sure, the doctors think he has fluid around his heart that is possibly infected so they have to try and sort that out. On the plus side my mam said he was happy and well in himself, they said he'll be in hospital till Friday but mam thinks it'll be after the weekend before he's out, gonna have to wangle some time off I think!

I really hope he's okay - will you visit at the weekend? Sometimes its just better being there than wondering from miles away.

Spoken to my mam today and he's still ok in himself, wont be out till early next week as he's got to have a angiogram(sp) and can't have that till he can lay flat and breathe on his own. So fingers crossed on that one happening soon, thanks for all the hugs and well wishes girls xxx
