Transferring money - ways to do it?

Mrs Roo, 19 August, 2008 at 14:57 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 4

Can anyone help? Basically I'm selling all sorts of baby-related bits, and a British lady living in Belgium wants to buy a big load of clothes. GREAT! But, as she's overseas she can't send a cheque, and she doesn't have paypal. Anyone got any ideas how she can get money to me? She mentioned seeing if there was a way of sending money direct to my bank account using her Mastercard, but I've no idea where to start. I *know* her, so would be ok about giving my bank details if that's an option (can other people pay money in? And overseas?) or is there another method we're missing? ?

She doesnt need a paypal account to use paypal. there are loads of ways, like nochex for example. anyway, surely the onus is on her to deal with this, not you?

I thought that these days you could pay somebody through paypal without having an account yourself

WeveryoneelseS re Paypal. She could also transfer money directly to your bank- you need to give her the international numbers (they should be on your bank statement).

I transfer money from my Dutch bank account to my UK Bank account all the time.

    She'll need:

    Account Name

    Bank Name

    IBAN

    BIC

I can choose to either send the amount in Euros or GBPs.

Oh, I didn't realise that about paypal - I was thinking she could just set herself up an account as it's SO easy to do and to send money you don't need to do diddly and it's free, but if she doesn't even need to do that, then even better! I'll put her onto that - would be much easier. I know the onus should be on her but tbh I want to get rid of the stuff, so if I can facilitate that then so much the better ?

    Thanks all ?
