tried and tested tips for stretching shoes??

lisaloulou, 1 September, 2009 at 15:44 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 4

I have bought a pair of shoes to wear to a wedding on Sat. I have quite wide feet and they are a bit tight and I'm wondering whether I can stretch them in 4 days. They aren't leather, just satiny fashion shoes from New Look.

Any tried and tested ways to do this? Does newspaper really work or am I wasting my time?

TIA

    I haven't treid this [disclaimer]

    but ....

I've heard that stuffing potato peelings into the toes of your shoes overnight will stretch them!

I also have really wide feet, what I do is wear shoes round the house with increasingly thick socks - looks ridiculous but sometimes helps. Having said that I've never had much luck with non-leather shoes. Mind you at least they feel less tight when you wear them without the socks!

If they were leather I'd have suggested a leather stretcher spray which works quite well however I will also vote for the thick sock option. If that doesn't work have some blister plasters in your bag ?
