Trying to find a WR to fit my ER - HELP

leanneboo87, 3 February, 2011 at 14:03 Posted on Planning 0 8

Hi,

My gorgeous Fiance got me a lovely engagement ring, to be completely honest, it wasnt what I was originally hoping for but it is quite a hard one to put with other rings due to the placement of the diamond. It is a square cut diamond but it sits in a diagonal setting and the ring weaves around it so it doesnt sit straight with normal ring settings. I have always just wanted a plain and simple straight wedding ring, nothing fancy just a white gold band, now this cant happen if I want to wear my ER along with the WR.

I am a bit stuck really, do I look for a bespoke WR to sit around the ER or do I get the "normal" WR and wear my ER on another finger? Seems a bit of a shame to wear it on another finger really.

Does anyone know of any reasonable priced jewellers in East Anglia area for bespoke rings? Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

Without seeing your ER, it's tricky to say if this would be suitable, but... you could get a plain band, and have part of it cut out, so it will sit perfectly against your ER, and look like a plain band. The only thing is, if you wear it without your ER, it will look a bit odd!

I'll try to find some pictures to put up so you can see what I mean.

If you get chance, can you put up a picture of your ER, so I can see what would be suitable for you?

Hi, my fiance chose my ring too. It is beautiful but sticks out. If I were to wear a normal WR then there would be a gap.

I went to an independent local jeweller (they are cheaper than chains). They showed me various shaped rings that they could do, but I didn't like them. They looked rather bulky. I just wanted something delicate.

They removed some of the setting on the ER so that it sits on top of the WR. It looks really good and meant that I could buy a slim plain band.

    Hi,

That is the design basically without the two diamonds to the side. Thanks for the advise I will take a look into Karl Karter and also Smooch.

    SMOOCH - Laura

My ring is pretty much a smaller version of the pic that has been uploaded previously. without the two diamonds either side the central diamond. Would love to see any ideas you have a have very little imagination and need any help I can get. Thank you!
