Hi, I went about 4 years ago and stayed at the Arum Hotel in Side. It was a really lovely hotel, nice pool and beach area, some nice gardens and the staff were really helpful. Couldn't fault the hotel at all really.

We went to Olu Deniz last June for 2 weeks. We stayed at the Turquoise Hotel. Was a beautiful place and would highly recommend it. The hotel and staff were lovely.

plenty to do there and loads of resturants to chose from.

Second vote for Olu Deniz. Not sure of the name of the hotel I stayed in but the resort was great.

Not long back from Dalyan. Loved it. Riverside town with fab little boat to beautiful beach. Flat. Nice town with lots of bars and restaurants. Could be quiet romantic riverside dinners or raucous raki-fuelled nights out depending on what you wanted! About 30 mins from airport but no aircraft noise.

Also been to Kalkan. 2 hours ish from airport, harbour town, no real 'beach' other than small pebbly stretch. VERY STEEP. I found it a bit yachty/brits abroad - expensive in comparison with other places. Not bad though (I preferred other places, but its good in its own way)

Calis. Beach resort for town of Fethiye which doesn't have own beach. In two halves - 'original' Calis with hotels etc and Koca calis which is development of privately owned villas and apartments. Search 'villa Anna' in Koca Calis - been here twice; really good. Beach in calis is ok, nothing spectacular though. Calis itself is a very definite resort town - one strip of restaurants and a couple of bars. Low key and unpretentious.

Olu Deniz - never stayed here, but been a few times - beautiful, really beautiful (most photographed bay in Turkey!) with good beach and very clear water in lovely scenery. Good restaurants/bars but never stayed overnight so not sure what nightlife is nice.

Friends have been to Icmeler and liked it too; also marmaris which they hated.

Another vote for Calis...the beach isn't great but we really love the place. Loads of bars and restaurants but it's not too commercialised or "British" if you see what I mean. We can't wait to go back there next week.

We booked through www.travelrepublic.co.uk and they were fab.

Another vote for Olu Deniz - been twice and it is fab, just the right amount of night life. I wouldn't recommend Icmeler - bit tacky and Brits abroad.

I liked Dalyan - there is a lovely lake and river where the 'African queen' was filmed and some hot mud baths. The beach is a taxi or boat ride from the town but that means the beach itself is unspoilt, it's a turtle nesting site so protected.

In fact Iztuzu beach was named best open space in the world by the Times in 2008 - very unspoilt as Bingy says, one beach 'shack' selling simple food and beers etc; parasols and sunbeds to rent, other than that - nothing there.

Mudbaths - never, ever, ever, again. Do it once for the experience, yes, but be very careful not to fall over and sit in it like I did. Am still picking nasty bits of sulphurous mud out of cossie. Yick.

If you choose Dalyan a private boat trip up to Koycegiz lake very very highly recommended - avoid the 'tour' boats - we got private boat for 4, spent all day, lunch included, four swim stops, waited on hand and foot, glorious; and all for £20 each including sizeable tip!

Not sure what you like to do on your holidays but I like Kas a lot. There are nice bars, some pebbly beaches, or you can bus it to Kaputas for sand, or jump on a little boat to go to Limanagzu for a change. There are a good selection of restaurants and shops although a tad more expensive than some other places.

The pace of life in Kas is fairly laid back but if you wanted to do anything then you could go on a boat trip to the Sunken City, do some diving although the waters can be cool as they are fed from the mountains, go up into the Taurus Mountains and walk along the Lycian Way, do a jeep safari into the hills behind and end up at Saklikent Gorge which is amazing. If you fancied city, you could combine your holiday with a night or two in Antalya which as an amazing harbour and old town.

    I love Turkey.
