Ooh, that is a difficult one. I guess there is no way of knowing what size she will be after for sure or at what point.

I think what i would do is find some shops which stock the dresses, and wait until as close to the day as possible, or forget bridesmaid drsses altogether and just go shopping to a few weeks before in usual shops with dresses with my fingers crossed!!!

no advice on the corsages - im debating them too at the moment!!

    Hi there

Wrist corsages look fab for bridesmaids. I haven't got any pictures on my website so can't put one on here, I'm afraid, but they are a gorgeous idea. Popular for brides too during the reception, as it means you can still have elements of your flowers about you once you've put your bouquet down. Any particular flowers you're thinking of using and I'll see if I can find some pics.

I'm making some orchid ones for a wedding this Friday!

Not sure I can be so useful on the BM dress front. I guess you just need to pick a dress for all of them, then maybe order one in her general post-baby size and have it altered at the last minute? Good luck!

    Hi,

you aere in the same situation as me, my sister is due 5 months before my day, i have already got her dress, she says she will definately fit into it be then (i really hope she does) but since she is due in oct and only has grown a bump, and not put on any weight on her arms, legs, face etc i'm pretty confident she will, although i know its risky! another of my bms is pregnant and due 2 months before the wedding ... arggghhh i have bought her a dress that had a little growing room in it (for boobs and tummy) when she was 4 months gone!

sooo i'm prob going to stress about it however if it doesn't fir we will have to think of a solution when it happens! the dresses i got i love, were on special offer and will prob go into the sales after x mas, and then i'll never get the sizes i need.

I've made a few Wrist corsages & they seem to becoming more popular.

As for the pregnant Bridesmaid I would leave it as late as possible.

    Love those wrist corsages Sherrie!

Leaning towards the idea more & more - especially for the BM who will have a new born as this way she'll have hands free so to speak!!!

Thanks for the advise & info girls x

We ordered the bm dresses & then one of the bm found out she was 5 & half months , so she had been pregnant when we first ordered them but didn't know.

The baby was 8 weeks old at the wedding.

We also had wrist corsages made by Linda @ flowergem , works out cheaper than a bouquet for each bm.These got commented on quite a lot on the day.

These were some I did recently, they are on the blue/green beaded bands that are elatsicated or you can get pearl/ crytal etc ones in various colours and widths. They had matching flowers in their hair, all fresh.

    Can't help with dresses sorry!

My MOH is having a wrist corsage, I love them!

I think they are so much easier than having to deal with than Bouquets

I was a bridesmaid for my friend a few weeks ago and was 5 months pregnant at the time. Our dresses were from Coast and we got mine in a size 14 (usually a 10) and then her dressmaker took it in. If the baby is due 5 months before the wedding then she will probably be on her way back towards her normal size, maybe you could get the dress slightly bigger and have it taken in. Its easier to get it taken in then to add material to make it bigger.

You might want to check if she is planning to breast feed as it would help if she had easy access to her boobs rather than a corset like top? Plus she might want a style where she can wear a bra.

My BM gave birth 5 months before our wedding. I decided to get the BM dresses made instead of the hassle and worry of finding a suitable dress for 4 BMS so close and then having to pay alterations on top. The dresses being made by a dress maker meant that the dressmaker could get on with the other 3's and leave the other BM til nearer the time.

I think the replies here are most helpful - I'd be leaving it as late as possible and buying on the high street to avoid pressurising her to fit into a pre-pregnancy dress size! Good suggestion about style & breast feeding!

My Mum decided on the day that her pin-on corsage would ruin her dress and my sister managed to convert it into a wrist corsage with a hairband. It looked pretty good so would agree that it's a good option although I also think BMs look great with complementary bouquets.
