I'm biased because I had Canon in D, my bridesmaid walked in first and I came in after. I would just say keep the same music so it flows better but it's really up to you

I intend to have Canon in D.

If I'm honest I agree with Schnarfy1 that it should be the same.

Maybe you could have River flows in you played whilst you sign the register if you haven't already decided. ?

It depends how far you have to walk. I know that sounds a bit daft, but if you've only got a short distance, you won't get much of the track in. I have done two different pieces of music on many occasions, and they were always where there was a fair treck from the door to the registrar/minister. Hope that helps you decide.

I just saw your post and I think that I might be in time to help!!

There is a new version of the Canon in D that is now being asked for at weddings and it is an arrangement by Miranda Wong. She has made a version that fits in with the short walk down the isle and it is really beautiful. Nina, one of our wedding pianists has recorded a sample: http://www.pianodj.co.uk/recording-wedding-pianist-bridal-canon-for-wedding-march-miranda-wong.html

The River Flows in You is a lovely piece and if I were getting married, I would definitely want to hear the whole piece played - perhaps you could have this for the signing of the register?

For further inspiration, I have created a free online guide for the brides who book one of our pianists and there are loads of recordings of music for wedding ceremonies - please feel free to have a look and listen: http://www.weddingmusictips.co.uk

If you have any other questions then please do not hesitate to ask.

    James
