If they are the sort of thing you like then I would say yes. My friend has them and loves them.

personally not a fan, but each to their own.

I've always considered them the ugliest things you can put on your feet, but a friend made me try them on when I was in university and I'd seriously never had my feet so cozy and comfortable. It was like slipping them into a cloud. I got my first pair back in 2005, but I wore them daily through 3 wet canadian winters and didn't keep them treated well, so I got a new pair in about 2008/9 and they're still like new. Granted, they've only been through 1/2 a canadian winter, and Japanese and UK winters aren't anything bad, so they last longer here. I also picked up a pair of ugg slippers for around the house and I'm very pleased with them.

    But damn, they ARE ugly.

No they're awful, I'd consider them for slippers.

I have a knitted pair and they are so warm and comfortable. I've had them 2 years and they still look new. I'm not that bothered that they don't look that nice - they are bloody warm, and we need warmth in NE Scotland!!

    I have these ones:

My parents are off to the US this week and my shopping list includes these ones:

I also have two pairs of UGG slippers.

The key with UGGs is to look after them. If you are wearing them in wet conditions you need to treat them properly,

I've had my black long ones for 3 years now I wear them fairly regulary, about once a week in winter to go to the supermarket/pop to the shop etc and they are still as good as new. They are really comfortable/easy to just throw on with a pair of jeans and so cosy when its freezing. I wouldn't wear them to go anywhere other than nipping out though.

Alternatively there are other brands of decent sheepskin boot available for a smaller price tag if you're not bothered about having the Ugg label. (I wouldn't recommend the v cheap pretend ones as they fall apart and go smelly.) I've had Emus before - just as high quality as Ugg twin faced sheepskin and mine are on their third year so far, and Celtic Sheepskin, based in Cornwall make a really good range of boots too, and I like the fact that they're in the uk. I have their houseboot slippers and they're amazing, and a pair of their aqua lamb boots (designers to be a bit more waterproof than regular sheepskin boots) coming tomorrow, hopefully.

I think they are worth it. Because I am a wide 9 I can't often get really comfy shoes, but the 8.5 fit me perfectly. I have the Bailey button (short) in chestnut which are about 3 years old - maybe more. They still look brand new. I also have the tall in chocolate, they are around 2 years old but still look OK. I had a pair of black tall for years before that and wore them completely to death. When I was sick of them I sold them on ebay for around £60 which amazed me considering the rubbish condition they were in. So you always have a resale value. I also sold off all the boxes on ebay, made £20-30 on each one.

I have Just Sheepskin boots instead, had my first pair for 4yrs and still wear them to put the bin out.

My new pair I have had 12months and are still good as new. They are cheaper than Uggs and I think they are great quality.

I bought a pair of uggs and had a unlucky time with them (the sole came away from the boot) and had a real fight on my hand to get it sorted, this was more the shops fault that it didn't get sorted properly- I ended up with a refund and will never go in BANK again but also decided to go for the Just Sheepskins again.

The reason I went for the Uggs was cause they did them in Tall Grey and at the time sheepskin didn't...they do now tho Smiley laugh

For the short time I had the Uggs they felt identical to my Just Sheepskins"

Try looking on M&M Direct, these beauties cost £80 I think. They're perfect for going to the hairdressers, supermarket or any other place where you're going to be for a long time!

My friend's wife asked for some for Christmas and they are £150. I was shocked, I didn't realise they were so much!
