Bourton on the Water in the Cotswolds is absolutely beautiful- lovely pubs, cafe's and restaurants, some really nice hotels, and it's picturesque, idyllic and romantic. IMO you wont beat it for a mini moon destination in The Cotswolds.

Depending on your budget I can recommend the following.... most expensive first, least expensive last!

Lower Slaughter Manor (£300+ per night) or The Slaughters Country Inn, both just outside Bourton On the Water in a stunning village location.

In the centre of Bourton I'd go for The Old Manse- lovely building, lovely spot right by the river, and not massively expensive.

For a more 'budget' stay, The Coach and Horses is a pleasant pub with accommodation on the outskirts of Bourton- about a 10 minute walk to the centre, but it is right on the main road, so can be noisy!

It's also worth looking at hotels in Stow On the Wold, which is not far away, (though not walking distance by any means), is also a lovely town (though not as nice as Bourton in my opinion, and has more hotels and more choice.

As far as I know, there are no 'bad' hotels in Bourton- a close friend lives there and I've spent a lot of time there over the years and have stayed in various places!

If by any chance you are into horse riding or even just fancy giving it a go, do look up Bourton Vale Equestrian Centre- they do lovely 'tourist' rides that are suitable for everyone (even if you've never sat on a horse before!) and it's a lovely way to see a bit of the countryside!

I would recommend using secret escapes. I booked my minimoon through this website and got a beautiful spa hotel with dinner and all very affordable

    xx
