UK MINI MOOOOOOON

HappyAnnie, 12 October, 2011 at 21:23 Posted on Planning 0 17

Evening all,

Can anyone suggest a good hotel/spa/location/cottage for a UK minimoon? We're getting married in Chesterfield, but willing to travel anywhere in the UK. We like nice food and nice surrounds, other than that we're easy to please!

We have started looking tonight but going round in circles with little direction.......any ideas much appreciated x

    milsoms hotel

Milsoms hotel is set in a stunning 2 acre garden . There is an informal atmosphere, with fifteen en-suite bedrooms, and this is the perfect place to eat, drink and stay as well. The contemporary gastro bar and brasserie are at the heart of the operation, food is served all day so no rush .... The Library is at the front of the house overlooking the garden and is ideal for small meetings for up to fourteen delegates, while Mr G's seats up to 24 for private meetings and dinners.

We went to the New Forest and stayed here - it was completely wonderful. Not the cheapest cottage you could find! But it was just perfect if you like things quiet and tranquil.

Have you thought about center parcs? If you are willing to send a little bit then they have amazing executive villas with private hot tubs and saunas. The spa area there is also very good and there is either lots to do, or some very lovely walks if you want to just relax?

Ooo a easter weekend twin Smiley smile

Depends what you want to do and where you have been before etcc...

You could do a little tour of a few places, maybe evolve it around michellin starred resturants on the way round? It is your hooneymoon after all Smiley smile Most of the hotels do packages for you to have the meal and stay over!

The Scarlet Hotel in Cornwall looks great. We are considering staying there for our Mini Moon.

We stayed here for a few days last Easter http://berehayesfarmcottages.com/

It is self catering, so perhaps not exactly what you want, but the cottages are lovely and the guy who runs them is really friendly. There's a swimming pool, hot tub and sauna on site as well and a mini gym. There's a pub in walking distance that is very friendly (basic food) but Lyme Regis is 5-10 mins by car and there are loads of lovely villages around with good pubs etc. The cottages are all in a courtyard and the only sound is the sound of sheep in the field opposite. It is in a small village but with good access roads.

    A similar place nearby: http://www.devonwillows.co.uk/

Never actually stayed at either but if you are looking for suggestions of things to do in the area don't hesitate to ask.

This is where we're going, it's secluded, romantic, has great food near by and isn't too expensive.

We stayed here for ours in North Cornwall:

    https://www.meadowviewcottage.co.uk/contact-us-owners-of-luxury-holiday-cottages-in-cornwall/

It was lovely, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend. We ate at Rick Stein's in Padstow and Jamie Oliver's fifteen near Newquay.
