Old Nick Esq.

Ultimate 80's compilation.

Old Nick Esq., 11 October, 2008 at 13:15 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 15

Suggestions please, for a two CD set.

I keep ending up with something that requires mascara and a backcombed bouff to listen to.

Can I be cheeky and ask what you put on it?

I'm having a nostalgic hour on You Tube now!

Never finalised a track list, but kept thinking along the lines of Smiths, Cure, Mission, Cult, JAMC, Sisters, Zodiac Mindwarp, various incarnations of Julian Cope, the entire Sarah Records back catalogue, Suzanne Vega .... With a wee bit of Billy Bragg, Redskins & Mr. Weller.

That was my '80's sort of.... But probably not representative ?

How far does your interest in Australian music go?

The Church - Under the Milky Way, Almost With You, Unguarded Moment.

INXS - Never Tear Us Apart, The Loved One, etc.

The Angels - Will I Ever See Your Face Again?

Australian Crawl - Boys Light Up, Reckless.

Hunters and Collectors - The Slab, Say Goodbye, Throw Your Arms Around Me, etc.

Cold Chisel/Jimmy Barnes - Khe Sanh (although that was 78), Flame Trees, etc.

Big Pig - Breakaway (from Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure soundtrack).

There are many more, but I'll stop boring everyone there.

I'd forgotten about a load of these.

Guy in the bar wants some CDs for his missus' B'day.

For some reason they always ask me...

Bloody hell, I've enjoyed putting these together.

Gone of on a bit of a Marillion tangent at the moment though... Possibly not wise.
