WedJay, 5 July, 2009 at 15:42 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 19

The money people have messed up again! Anyone who works with handling large numbers of 20p get checking!

Undated 20p's

The news article to go with this:

https://uk.news.yahoo.com/5/20090629/tuk-minted-lucky-20p-owners-could-get50-45dbed5.html

Is anyone lucky enough to have one of these? Would be a nice wedding present or good to go towards wedding fund!

i know some have gone for crazy money on the bay of e, but that'll calm down soon enough. exactly the same happened with the 'im not a pastic bag' bags, people were loons for a day or so, but after that, not so much interest.

£50 if you give them back to the London Mint, £500 if you sell them on fleabay. I've raided my son's piggy bank and H's wallet but haven't found any. There are a lot of people selling them on fleabay who've misunderstood the concept though and are selling perfectly normal 20p which are worth exactly 20p.

I saw them ? I wondered whether they're thick or just trying to, ahem, cash in? People are buying them though! There's someone who's trying to con people by the looks of it and has lots of questions saying "Is there a date on the coin??" etc.

You've got to get up pretttty early to get one over on me, my friend ?

As I recall you were sufficiently embarrassed to not admit what you were there for when a sales assistant asked you if you were after a bag, and you denied it, didn't you? ?

? it was a random MOP

she just approached me in the car park and said 'if yer here ferrer bag, there in't none left' (this is best said in your head in a south leeds accent)

and i said in my very best posh north leeds accent with a nonchalent air 'bag? what bag?' ?

I got all excited on Monday when I looked in my wallet after I saw this, until i realised the old ones had the year on the reverse side, and mine indeed was from 1992 lol

I give up, found something better than all the people with undated 20p's for a fraction of the cost!

I personally would rather have a gold undated 20p !

    Gold Undated 20p

    😎

It's got 'offer' as well as 'buy it now'. I'm so tempted to offer 20p!

It wouldn't let me offer 20p; 99p was the lowest so I offered that. He turned me down, then a few days later I got a warning email from e Bay of suspected dodgy dealings from this seller. Did anyone else get one?
